Good morning ladies. I am wondering what difference there is between Soy and Rice cc? I don't mean on an allergy basis. Just preference and performance. I am currently using Lavender. I have just bought all of the spring 32oz scents. I know they are soy based, and am also aware that the TTV for next weekend is going to be rice based cc. Hope I didn't choose wrong. Any advice would be GREAT! Thanks

I only use the Soy based as they do the best for my hair...I have found the newer ones that contain some of the honey in them are the ones I am sticking with...the new SHL is just my all time favorite, (next is Summer Honey Peach)...I cannot use the BGT, as it dry's my hair, but the new rice one (MIF) has gotten some good reviews for moisture .. I am hoping the new summer scent will have honey in it also. For now I am stocking the Spring Honey Lilac...

I think that everyone's experience is so unique- that one just has to experiment for what works. I don't pay attention to any reviews - like this formula was too dry or this is more moisturizing, because they are just a moment of time. And there are so many different variables that are in play that one never really knows until you try. Also the longer you use WEN the different your experience will be as the condition of your hair and scalp changes and your needs might be different. I have been using WEN for over three years and my hair and scalp are the healthiest they have ever been and I can use any formula.

Thanks for the response. I was hoping for volume with the spring scents (one can never get enough vloume!) I have heard that the rice base had good results for most, some calling it far to drying. I could not decide between the spring scents so of course, had to get all. Sure they will be wonderful.

I agree with both previous posters, and it is true - everyone's experience is so unique.

I now have CCs with all three bases - soy, rice and wheat. In each category, some CCs do better than others for me.

I have not come across a CC that totally would NOT work for my hair, and if, for example one of them a little too drying, and the other a little too heavy, I would mixed it up with something else, or with each other.

I will use up each one of the cleansers I purchased, while figuring out which CC is really the best for my hair and will be buying more of that in the future.

In another words, it is an individual process of figuring it all out for one self. Besides, I learned reading other posts, one's hair needs may change, and it is good to have few different CCs to use as you find it fit at the moment.

I'd say, unless you have allergies to certain base, try new ones. Wen CCs are ALL very good in performance, depending on your individual hair needs. Other people's experiences will never tell you which one is best for you.

p.s. I have both of March TSV sets. I love new IMF! It is perfect for my hair! I love BGT also. BGT is a little more drying than IMF, but if you use and like Lavender, it maybe just right for you. MIF is a little more moisturizing, but not to the point of maiking hair too heavy - it gives just perfect body and fullness to my hair!

Also this TSV is very good deal - it gives you a wonderful Six Thirteen to add a pump or two to your other cleansers, or to use alone as ones a week/two weeks treatment. Also this TSV has two other great products that are very useful.

Frankie, if you are doing Lavender and it's working okay for you, both items on TSV - BGT and IMF should not be too drying for you.

Besides, these kits have Six Thirteen, in case it will be a little drying, or if you hair will have some "fly aways", just use a little of 6/13 as leave in, or add a pump or two of 6/13 in your cleansing. You'll be fine than.

I find BGT fragnance simply wonderful and love the results, IMF smells okay to me, but the results I simply love!

Thanks for the input. I was really very interested in the TSV for next week and could hardly resist, however the sent of spring was calling me so i had to go with it. I do love the lavender, but as of yet have not tried the newer versions of cc. I was not sure how the soy base and the rice base compared. I have looked at all ingredients in each cc and the newer products have so many new things in them that I figure its time to try. I did use POM for a bit and really liked it, yet the newer seasonals are way more advanced. Just wondered if anyone noticed any significant differences between the two?

I don't know if some one does notice the difference between two, I sure don't. What soy/rice base is -just different sources of base proteins, that's all. There are so many other components and ingredients that make one CC different from each other, that really matters.

I guess, this may be a real problem for someone new to Wen, like you and me - too many choices!

I look at this this way, I know, I really like this line, so far nothing was horrible for me, I will invest in CCs now, and will have a great supply to last me for a while. Later on, I will be choosing and picking CCs that I know proved to be the best in performance for me, so I will not be spending a lot of money at one time, like I was initially.

I don't know if you are using nurishing and styling Wen products yet, but they do make a huge difference in whole Wen experience.

sonechko, I have not tried any of the styling products. I am as low maintenance as one can get. No blow dryer, curl iron, flat iron, so on and so on. I have middle of back thin med. blonde - silver hair and only add leave in and let air dry. I was just curious about the newer cc's and was finally ready to try. I will keep in mind the styling products if I can find a way to work them in. I saw today that my Spring scents have shipped, so I am looking forward to the arrival. Spring! what a lovely time of year. Thanks for the help

I do perfectly understand, Frankie. That's precisely when TSVs do come handy - they save us money, because bundled up, also with special price point for 24 hours only, they usually are very good deal to save some money, plus to have wonderful products in a set. Additionally, we pay only $3 shipping for all FOUR products delivered, otherwise it would be $12 if purchased separately.

I did pre-order both of these TSVs, but I wanted to hold off on Spring CCs, thinking they will go on some special combined deal. No such luck so far! I really wanted to try them and I had to buy Lilac CC in the last few seconds before it was sold out completely at regular price! No one knows if it will be back or not.

This upcoming, March 27 TSV is $69.95 includes two choices - 32 oz large BGT CC, 16 Six Thirteen CC, regular size BGT styling gel, and regular size BGT spray mist.

The second choice is 32 oz Mandarin Italian Fig (MIF), 16 Six Thirteen CC, regular size MIF styling gel, and regular size MIF replenishing mist.

The 32 oz BGT or MIF is $52.74 purchased by itself, 16 oz Six Thirteen - $32, Styling gel - $26, treatment mist - $26. When you add this up (about $140 total), you'd see good value that usually comes with TSV offerings, besides one can try other products, they normally would not spend money on.

There is not need to use blow drying, or curling iron to use these products. Both, styling cream and replenishing mist add protection, shine and manageability to your hair, especially to your second day hair. Spray is great refreshment and moist treatment for the face or to set make-up, and refresh/re-moist your hair and add more shine.
