Sorry for yet another thread - my take on the It Cosmetics TSV

I know this has been discussed to death, but without much resolution. I did a couple of head-to-head comparisons to address a couple of the controversies.

First of all, I have Light. A lot of people have expressed concern that Light is much darker in this configuration than in the tube. I have both, so I applied the same amount of each to each side of my face, and blended out the same way. There is absolutely no difference at all per my observation, as well as my husband and little boy's.

Yesterday when I got the kit, I was curious about the assertion that the powder is the same as Celebration foundation, so I did that comparison too. There is definitely a difference. In the past, I have used Celebration as a finishing powder over CC, but I had to use a big fluffy brush to avoid getting cake-face. To compare, I used the brush that came with the kit to apply Celebration on one side of my face over the CC, and the new finishing powder on the other side. Celebration adds significant coverage, and applied this way, felt heavy on top of the CC. The new powder glided on perfectly with the included brush, and blurred out pores, but didn't add significant coverage. As a matter of fact, I had an area on my chin that I couldn't get completely covered with the powder, so I went in with one swipe of the foundation and took care of it.

The under eye cream has been accused of both being extra sparkly and of being the CC in a different tube. We can agree that it can't be both different and the same. My conclusion is that it is a little more sparkly, so it's different from the regular CC. I personally don't mind the extra "illumination" but I do see how it could be off-putting. I wouldn't apply with the spoon. I love the spoon, and like to do the pressing without squeezing any product out. Once I've "spooned" I squeeze out a wee tiny amount of product and then tap it on with my finger. I think it could definitely get glittery with too much product.

The lipstick is kind of fantastic, but I do wish the color was a little more saturated. I love the consistency - balmier than your favorite balm - and the color is awesome. I think I love any product they make in the color "Love." I just wish it wasn't *quite* so sheer. And I wish there was at least a little SPF in it. Without SPF, that means I have to add another product for protection, which negates the excellence of the consistency.

So there's my take. I know it's kind of moot since nobody's deciding whether or not to buy, but I hope it helps redeem the kit in the minds of some.

Just wanted to add that I don't mean to take anything away from people whose experiences were different. I'm not calling anyone a liar. These are my perceptions and mine alone.

Re: Sorry for yet another thread - my take on the It Cosmetics TSV

I agree with you. I also read the post that said the Celebration Foundation powder and the CC Power in the TSV were the same. They do not perform the same. I actually like this new CC finishing powder in the TSV much better. I found the Celebration Foundation powder to be very heavy, looks like a mask on the face and its really bad when it comes to showing pores. The TSV (between the CC liquid foundation & the CC Finishing Powder) gives a flawless finish, does not look like a mask and does not enlarge the pores. I really love the look. I got the Medium and it works well on me whereas the medium in the Celebration Foundation is too dark and muddy looking. I also feel the lipstick is very nice though not as vibrant as I would like so I use a medium rose colored lipliner around my lips and color them in a bit then top with the lipstick. It give me the color I want and its a very creamy and moisturizing lipstick. I'm kind of a lipstick snob whereas I only use Chanel as I feel its the bet out there when it comes to staying power and moisturizing. The CC under eye concealer in the TSV is ok but I prefer to put my specific beautify products by Skinceuticals on first then use the IT Bye Bye under eye concealer as it gives better coverage. Overall, I'm pleased with the TSV but I will have to see how my skin is going to react to prolonged use. I have very sensitive skin and some products can cause breakouts.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write the review. I have mine here---still in the box, deliberating as to whether or not to even unpack it. I think I will and give it a fair try. I went back and looked at HotandFlashy on Youtube, and she did use medium and it looked great.

Thanks very much for your review. This kit seems to be one people either love or hate! Mine should be delivered Monday. Never used any of the cc products before (only IT's brow power) so I am very curious to see if they work for me.

I too agree. I really like this TSV used it yesterday. I got the tan is that is a pretty good match for me. Will be great in another month or so. I had almost written off IT cosmetics due to the heavy consistency of many of the products. I love the under eye spoon and used it sparingly. I love the entire kit and is the best liquid foundation I have tried in a long time. I am on AD for Bareskin Bare Nude and plan to drop that replace this foundation. I am 60 medium normal to dry skin

I also agree ... I am keeping this one in fair on auto delivery. I also got the GR kit in light. I like the option of mixing fair and light. Love the new under eye - much thinner consistency - and I will alternate with my HG BBUE in fair. This was a winner for me.

Great review haleypie, I agree with pretty much everything you said. I also wear "light" and find there to be no difference in color, I like the compact delivery system as it delivers just the right amount of product for me, the tube sometimes delivers a bit too much. The first time I used the eye cream I put it over the cc cream and thought it was a bit "sparkly" but since then I've used it under the cc cream and it doesn't look sparkly at all just adds a brightening effect. I'm very happy with this TSV. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Re: Sorry for yet another thread - my take on the It Cosmetics TSV

OP's experience is very much like mine. I got the cc cream in medium when the big tube was the TSV and liked it but didn't love it. With the finishing touch of the new powder I absolutely love it; it went from OK to fabulous on me. I've never found an under eye product I could stand at all but this one is good; improves my eye area enough to make me want to wear it, though not sure whether I will buy it when it runs out. I love the lipstick. It isn't highly saturated but on my lips it's a lovely natural color just dark enough to show up. I know this kit will be great for some, terrible for some and so-so for others. I'm delighted with it and wish everyone who tries it the best.

Re: Sorry for yet another thread - my take on the It Cosmetics TSV

Thanks for the in-depth review, haleypie. I love this TSV. I'm not crazy about the CC cream's new delivery system, though. That being said, my biggest "disappointment" would be that the lipstick looks coral on me; even my mom said so. I was looking forward to a nice light rose or "natural pink" color, but it didn't happen for me. I haven't seen it look coral on anyone else, though, so I wonder if something's wrong with mine. I really like the formulation! I agree that some SPF in there would be great.

At any rate, we all appreciate you taking the time to test so thoroughly and report back to us! Thanks again.
