okay this might actually be the ONE thing I DO stock up on, lol! I suppose I have an irrational fear of running out of TP. I only buy Trader Joe's recycled TP so no worries about finding something better and having it go to waste (no pun intended). However, it isn't like I have a closet full of it and open the closet door at your own risk because it will all come tumbling down on you if you aren't careful but yes, I keep a few packs on hand at all times. {#emotions_dlg.scared}

Re: Something I've Learned The Hard Way

I have that problem too. I try something new and like it so I buy back-ups if they are on sale and I also have to buy other items in that "new" line. Then--I find I like another brand. I always use everything, but sometime don't want to as I have moved on. Trying to break that habit. Plus storage becomes an issue not to mention something always gets passed over and then it is too old.

I agree. One extra is usually enough.

I do keep a reasonable stock of contact lens solution, toilet paper, paper towels, and cat litter.

You're preaching to the choir like the other poster says, although it happens to me more with shoes. If I love a pair, I'll buy two, but because I don't wear a lot of my shoes daily, the first pair never wears out and the second pair is wasted money.

Been there, done that. I rarely do it these days.

If trying a new line, just buy one or two things from the line initially and then decide if it works before ordering a ton, especially when ordering online.

Don't stock up on something you love because something better always comes along. I recently cleaned out my makeup and realized that I had way too may items that I thought I couldn't live without so I bought 3 or 4 to make sure I didn't get caught short. I've since learned to keep one extra and that's it. I wasted a lot of money learning that there really isn't a holy grail for any item.

I learned that lesdon, too.

I stock up on most loved things because it never fails they d/c them and then I'm sad and it takes forever to find a replacement.

I feel this way about signing up for auto deliveries- the vendors usually come up with a comparable (or even better!) deal down the line!

Are you anticipating a day when you won't need toilet paper? Afraid of having too much?
