Smashed balance and brighten

Ok so I got my TSV today and sadly my balance and brighten is smashed to smitherens. I am so bummed. i called QVC they offered me a partial refund of 11 bucks, since my shade is out of stock they cant replace it! My question is will it still work the same if it is smashed up? I was so sad to see this today! I was really looking forward to getting it!
