Anyone have this procedure done on their eyes?

I had a regular upper lid lift. Don't know what " Sliver" means.

I looked it up- I don't understand the point... if they are already doing an incision, just take what will improve the area best, not just a "sliver"- 

I went for a bleph consult recently. The upper lids are a much more common operation and an easier, less risky outcome. The lower, is a much tougher operation, and riskier for vision.

@rms1954   Yes, my friend had it done recently. If vision is affected by eyelid skin covering the top portion of eye, a sliver of skin is taken out...not a full bleph.

If recommended by a opthamologist, insurance may cover the procedure. hers was covered. she's 78 and the doc said she'd look "frightened" with full bleph at her age and eyes wide open...good call since she looks great, sees well and still looks her age with a bit of a tweak.

@rms1954   If she would have taken the doc's advice only been a few weeks (except the expected bruising), but she had a complication on one lid where the surgeon left in a stitch. She picked it with a tweezers even though I told her to leave it alone and the lid became infected. Antibiotics and 3 months later all was well except some yellowish brusing under and over both lids that lasted for awhile. That was easily covered with concealer.

I had a regular bleph. Not painful at all during or after. At most a thirty minute procedure.

Didn't even need a Tylenol.My eyes look exactly the same as before hooding, no surprise look- that's the result of a bad surgeon. Mine was not covered by insurance. I was tired of droopy lids and wearing eye makeup made my lids look worse! Now I'm so happy to wear eye makeup again!
