Many of us use green tea and antioxidants in some of our topical skincare products. We also take them in supplements sometimes. But did you know drinking tea can positively affect your skin too? ***edited to remove link

@JeanLouiseFinch Makes sense because eating many things does damage to our skin, not just to our internal organs.

Thanks for this post! I use herbs and teas. Currently using a detox tea (one of the ingredients is Dandelion) combined with a ginger/green tea. My food choice is reflective of my choice of tea...drink two to three cups a day. Periodically like to do this regimen....feels great!

I am a huge black tea drinker have been all of my life. I never liked coffee. I know green tea is good for you but I have never found one that tasted good to me.

@JeanLouiseFinch Yes, green tea can be beneficial, but I doubt it can ever do the same as antioxidants in topical skincare.
I have had chamomile many times a week, but just because I like it and find it relaxing before bed. I do know sugar/carbs can affect collagen production, but desserts have never been my favorites not for that reason.

I've gone in spurts with drinking hot tea, but always have a mug of hibiscus tea since it's good for high blood pressure. Then I got a little more into tea drinking a few months ago. Recently we visited some friends who are big tea drinkers all day long - their high school and college age kids too. They fill a 30 cup percolator in the morning and keep it plugged in all day for hot water on demand. They keep a nice assortment teas on hand too. They don't drink coffee. While visiting, I caught the tea bug. I ordered a bunch from Harney & Sons and some from Amazon. Oh my, I have a lot now! I'm enjoying multiple cups daily, some caffeinated, some caffeine free. DH has started too, occasionally. We still have some coffee in the morning, but then switch to tea. I found this article to be especially good news.

Great post @JeanLouiseFinch !
I am a firm believer in health benefits of tea -- antioxys inside as well as outide. Harney is one of my favorite tea companies. There certainly is an assortment from your list here at my home.
I'm just wondering if, when you visited your friends who were tea aficionados, could you see it their skin or other health?

I love tea, and drink it everyday, first thing in the morning and sometimes later in the afternoon. I love black teas best...Assam, English and Irish breakfast, Ceylon.
Not a big herb tea drinker but will make myself drink Chamomile to get sleepy or ginger for stomach issues and some other immune teas when feeling something coming on.
Tks for posting @JeanLouiseFinch ...interesting article.
