@SurferWife I had the same issues as @chiclet . I tried and tried using silky pillowcases but they always slipped away, usually falling off the bed. I can't say they kept my hair from frizzing, never noticed a difference. However, they were cool. If you got warm where your head was you could move to the other side of the pillow and it was cool, IF you still had it on your bed.

I have tried both silk and satin.  Right now I am wearing my hair straight but i have worn it curly in the past.  I don't find that the pillowcases do much for keeping my hair from frizzing and I don't find that they keep me cool.  What works best for me is keeping my hair piled up on my head with a satin scrunchie,

My hubby surprised me with a blissy silk one, and I ended up returning it.

Very hot sleeping on it and it wouldn't stay in place.  Give me 100% cotton any day. Cat Sad

Thank you ALL for your input.  I have to admit, I heard enough feedback about the pillowcases being hot, that I think I'll pass.  Being hot in bed (LOL!) is the LAST thing I need!

Aloha, I have 6 silk pillowcases in pink, gray, blue.  Love.  Brand is Symphony Home. Limited supply on Amazon, but I bought mine on Shop LC.  One side is Tencel so they don't slip around.

They keep my shoulder length fine hair from tangling and have argan oil and hyaluronic in them so face doesn't dry out.

Honestly can't recommend these more highly.

Silk is a natural material and has a temperature self-regulating feature about it. It keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Silk is also breathable so it feels nice against the skin.

Polyester satin pillowcases are the worst when it comes to everything you don't like about a pillowcase.

Re: Silk Pillowcases

[ Edited ]

I purchased one in mint green and another in pink after loving my 1st pure silk 25mm weight pillowcase.  Mine has a zipper on it and fits my contour pillows perfectly.  I want it to be very smooth so IF I sleep on my side I don't get those pillowcase lines from a loose fitting case.  Plus having very sensitive skin (rosacea) I find cotton cases to feel like sand paper.

Now with that said I do own 100% rayon made from bamboo sheets and the pillowcases on those sets are just as awesome.  But they don't have a zipper on them.

I have very frizzy curly hair and I find both of these natural fabrics to be the best for sure.  And they never make me sweat or over heat.

Forgot to mention my pillow never slides off the bed...ever so no issues with that BUT maybe that's due to using memory foam contour pillows?  Perhaps other styles this would be a issue I don't know.

Brand I purchased from A is

Celestial Silk 100% Silk Pillowcase for Hair Zippered Luxury 25 Momme Mulberry Silk Charmeuse Silk on Both Sides of Cover -Gift Wrapped- (Standard, Mint Green)

Also I never hand wash them....they go in with my sheets and I use a tiny amount of fabric softener....dry for about 5mins in dryer and hang up to finish drying for about 1hr.  Very easy care and well worth it.

I use one most of the time. It keeps my hair smooth and I feel it keeps my hair from falling out. Well it  a Satin case. I have the one that has a non slippery side on the other side.

Mine is Copper infused.  Does it help?  I think so.  I've slept on one for years, but I have few wrinkles (result of losing 12 lbs) at 85+!
