I've been wanting to try these ever since I found out about them last year.  I was particularly interested in the Vicks one for my sinuses but also saw some others on Amazon.  Well, I finally ran across the Vicks ones at the grocery store and bought them.  I had a bit of a cold at the time, so the next time I showered I used one.

Sad to say, I was rather disappointed.  I had visions of being enveloped in the steam and the eucalyptus smell opeining up my sinuses.  The reality was whiffs of eucalyptus.

So, my question is, have any of you used any of them and are some better than what I experienced?

Turns out, I found out recently that pets can be sensitive to these essential oils which can end up wafting through the air and onto their fur which they might lick or they can irritate their lungs.  Eucalyptus is one that can be particularly toxic to cats.  So, I guess I won't be using that function of my humidifier either.  My cats don't join me in the bathroom during my shower, but I also don't have an actual door between the bathroom and the bedroom, so I don't know if that's an issue or not.  I know some EO's are worse than others.

I bought some to give to my daughter's bridesmaids at her bridal bridal brunch. There were some left that i kept for myself.  I wasn't too imoressed either.  I mean, the initial scent was pleasant but it didn't hang around very long.

I bought some on Amazon in a jar.  They are slightly bigger than sugar cube, but melted probably in 30 seconds, maybe they really weren't steamers like the large disks.  I wanted to gift them, and so glad I didn't.  4 jars of junk.  Barely had a smell.

I wasn’t impressed with the shower steamers, either. They weren’t that fragrant and ended up kind of clumpy and messy on my shower floor.

@Icegoddess   Same experience for me with the Vicks steamers. I had high hopes but wasn't the least bit impressed. And the shower stall I used them in is tiny so you would have thought the concentration level would have been high....but no.

Re: Shower Steamers

I love the BodyRestore Relief Shower Steamers that I get on AMZ. However, they are touted as aromatherapy, nothing medicinal or sinus related at all. But, the scent is wonderful. Mint Eucalyptus.

@monicakm I find the scent lingers in the room for quite some time, it always brightens me up when I use them!

@Jacie I might have to try those.  Thanks.  I don't care if they're medicinal or not.

@Icegoddess  - I received some as a gift for Christmas 2022 and never used them.  They sure smell good in the box.  Maybe I'll have to try them out.  Kinda forgot about them.

Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks @Jacie for the recommendation.
