Thanks SuzyQ3! I have been just using my vitamin c during the day and I too use retinol at night. I am currently using Isomers vitamin c stem serum and Isomers retiniacin. I experimented some with the Elizabeth Grant line on Shophq and was really enjoying using them until recently. I don't know how to describe it other than my skin just looked blah. As soon I as put my Isomers serums back into my routine I noticed an immediate improvement. I honestly think that my skin reacts negatively when I bombard it with too many ingredients (the E.G. products have a lot). I am considering either the NCN or Mad Hippie serums the next time I run out. I like that they are more natural in terms of preservatives and fillers than the one I use from Isomers. Nothing so far has appealed to me in the retinol department other than the retiniacin from Isomers so I will most likely continue with it.
Just curious, what are you ladies using for sunscreen? I am currently using the physical sunscreen from Skinn not the new one he just came out with. I think it's called Skinnsurance.

When I first began using oils I was so happy with them that I cut out my CeraVe AM w/SPF 30 and was using Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil alone in the morning. Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking, but then it dawned on me the other day that I didn't have any SPF anymore. That said, I've added the CeraVe AM back into my morning routine, but still adding a few drops of Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil to it.

Thanks JLF- I have used the Cerave one in the past and liked it. When I ran out I decided I needed to use up the one I had from Skinn before it goes bad. I have been checking out the EWG website and had thought about trying the one from Devita but saw some bad reviews saying that it was not good under makeup. Something about they changed the zinc in it or something.

I don't like really sweet scents but a sophisticated type vanilla sounds intriguing. Darn you girl!
OP, I second the Nilotica shea butter for things like lips, hands, etc, even my picky DH uses this all the time on his lips. I want to try the Gold one sometime too. And rub a little oil (if you get the argan-rose hip seed one) into your nails and cuticles with the remainder after you apply it to your face and you will be amazed at how nice your nails and cuticles will be after awhile.
HappyDaze, the only slight con to the body creme is that it's quite dense. If you find that it doesn't spread as well as you'd like, you can mix it with a little bit of body lotion or apply it while your skin is still a bit damp. It's not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it.
I think I told you a while back that I was leaning more toward the Organik shea rather than the Gold, but fickle person that I am, I'm now preferring the Gold.
I do like the Nilotica for around my eyes and a tiny bit patted on my face, but I have to say that I prefer the Gold for areas like feet, elbows, hands, etc. (per the site's recommendation). I find that it's so moisturizing and creates a barrier that lasts for many hours.
Funny goof -- I have put a couple drops of oil or a dab of Gold shea in my bath and liked it. Yesterday I tried a it with the Nilotica. Oops. The bathtub became very slippery. But my skin felt great.
suzy, I have to thank you. You know, I've had that little jar of Nilotica now for forever and never once thought of trying it on my face. I thought it would be way to greasy and cause pimples or milia (never had that but worried about getting it). But yesterday I tried a new sunscreen that irritated my face so I washed it off but my face still seemed angry, lol. So I took a teeny tiny amount of the nilotia, warmed it up in my hands and patted it onto my skin and rubbed a little under my eyes. It REALLY calmed down my skin and gave it nice, smooth look! So this morning I decided to mix a tiny amount of it with some rose hip seed oil and use it under my makeup and wow!!! It worked like what I always thought primers were suppose to work like (but never do, at least for me). I probably won't use it every day to make sure no issues develop but I might have found a nice addition to my routine. Thanks for the suggestion and I feel that it does leave a nice moisture barrier, keeping in the moisture much better than any silicone-based product has ever done, and so far, without any issues developing.
Now I need to buy a big tub of it and also try the Gold.
Oh and my DH has been using the Nilotica every day in the AM on his lips. He loves that stuff (I have to steal back my jar from him).

Sorry that happened to you. Would you mind terribly if I learn from your mistake? Which sunscreen was it?

Bella, I tried the Desert Essence Organics Age reversal Mineral sunscreen. It has some really nice ingredients so I thought why not. I am thinking perhaps the bergamont or the sandalwood were the culprit (s). I thought maybe since they were so low on the list they wouldn't be an issue but, it was.
I also had a reaction to the Suntegrity Baby natural mineral sunscreen. Looking at the ingredients, I think it was the extremely high zinc (20%!!). I've realized that my skin cannot tolerate that high of zinc, at least by itself. Although I notice both this one and the Desert Essence contain cucumber and my skin does not always do well with cucumber so perhaps that may also be an issue.
I do like Beyond Coastal Natural SPF 30 sunscreen, there are alot of antioxidants in it, some really nice ingredients. A little difficult to rub in but not too bad.
ETA: I should say that they cause an issue on my facial skin. I am using them up on my body and neck and no issues there.

Glad you liked the tip about Nilotica. The key is to use just a tiny amount. Even then, I sometimes need to massage it in pretty well. I've used it several times and have had no irritation or other problems.
O/T: I see that you bought the Resist Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30. Just remember that it's not super moisturizing, so you can always use another moisturizer under it if you need to.

Well, that is problematic, isn't it? Don't you need 20% zinc for the sunscreen to be effective? Where did you find them? More interestingly, where did you find the Beyond Coastal? Are you still planning to get the PC sunscreen?

Hi, BC.
The PC Resist Super-Light Defense SPF 30 has 13 percent zinc. I didn't think you need 20 percent to be effective.
