@Carmie

I also used electrolysis years ago and guess what?  I know all about it too.  I don't have one scar from it.

If you only have a small area of hair to remove, Finishing Touch Flawless Shaver is good and you can always find the head replacements when you need to replace a dull one. It's small and easy to carry with you just in case you spot a hair or two.

I just finally admitted that no matter the device I was shaving so it's cheap disposable razors for me.

I use Pop Sonic although I'm not totally happy with it. I've noticed peach fuzz on my face as I've aged, not dark hairs that I need to shave off. The peach fuzz comes back, but not any different texture than what I've shaved off. I'll keep looking for a different brand but will continue with the Pop Sonic until then.

Why not try electrolysis?

----

 My experience with electrolysis: I went to electrolysis monthly for 1 year on my facial hair and finally gave up. While it was lighter in texture, never stopped growing back. I learned that if youve been tweezing or waxing, you strengthen the follicle and electrolysis will takes years of commitment, maybe never successful- Only hair not tweezed is permanent and stops coming back. I gave up- Too inconvenient, pricy and painful.

Once I had my eyebrows done with electrolysis ( laser had no effect ), I gave my self a wonderful 50 th birthday gift: had my legs and underarms done.

I did them in one-hour appointments over a few months.  The amount of time saved over the last 31 years was well worth it.  Compared to the expensive failed laser treatment, the electrolysis cost was minimal.  It was not painful: comparable to tweezing which I used to have to do nightly.

The worst project undertaken: " permanent makeup " for brows which lasted for less than a year.  Touchup was expensive.  They never mention that the brow skin can reject the dye and leave a gap.

As far as the failure of brow laser: my very dark hair and complexion made a " perfect " condition.....NOT !

I finally got a men's razor, for a tidy sum.  Didn't want to play around with less precise equipment and you can get replacement blades easily.  Went with the 3 floating head kind.

The other thing is an epilator.  Works wonders for the big hairs, once you use it regularly, it is not painful.  I got one here at QVC.
