Can anyone recommend a good facial electric shaver for women? I’ve tried pop sonic but it didn’t seem to get very close, especially on my chin. I’m over 70 so I now have the distinct pleasure of billy goat facial hair!! Please help!

@FLGranny I am 67 and have the most stubborn hair on my chin and the best I have found is Panasonic-I order it right off of Amazon for about 22.00. It lasts a long time and works as well as nay I have found.

I still prefer waxing-it lasts the longest for me, and get the hair out by the root, so it looks cleaner and more polished!

Thank you for the tip. I'll try the panasonic, they're a good brand. I'm a type 2 diabetic so waxing or chemical hair removal is not recommended. ( I don't know why.) At least the hair from everywhere else just fell out!

@FLGranny  @CANDLEQUEEN

Why not try electrolysis?

I don't understand why women are using shavers for removing hair. When it grows back in coarse.  There is Lazer and Electrolysis.  I agree with Mz iMac.

They consider it a medical procedure and require medical clearance because of bigger risk for infection and slower healing time. Plus the cost.

Lazer only works on dark hair.  Many ladies have white facial hair.  Electrolysis leaves scars and takes many treatments before it is permanent and sometimes it's not very effective.

I used to do electrolysis, so I know what I am talking about.  I honestly don't know anyone doing electrolysis anymore.  It's a very dated hair removal system.

There is a cream that will help diminish hair, but it must be used everyday.  If you stop using it, the hair will grow back.

It used to be sold under the name Vaniqa which has been discontinued.  You can get it compounded from either Musely or Wisp.  It requires a prescription and an online fee for a physician to prescribe it.  It is also on the expensive side, but it does work.

Musely will send it to you...it's about $41 a month, but there are coupons.

Wisp will send order to your local pharmacy and you will pick it up there.

Insurance will not cover.

You can also go to a dermatologist who can prescribe this med ( Eflornithine.). A brand name that is available is Florexa...maybe you PCP will prescribe if you ask.

I bought a shaver from Hsn. Brand is TruRitual. Works great on my facial hair.

@CANDLEQUEEN.  I also have the Panasonic, however, i think it's now been replaced by a new model.  I liked it so much, I'm now n my second one.

@Catastrophe.  That's an old wives' tale.  It grows back no different than it was originally
