Are you single?  Do you find him attractive?

Not single.  I wear an obvious rock to drop the hint.  No, he's just a young man.  My nephews are in their late thirties - this guy is a young pup.  Not ever interested in the least.

@ChynnaBlue WOW, that is scary.  I may watch one too many crime solving shows but there are many that view criminal sorts with the behavior of the guy you described.  I've had my share of stalkers and they are not fun at all.

Perhaps you remind of his mother?

That's something to seriously consider.  In fact, I may just ask if the opportunity arises again.  I'd say "Do I remind you of your mother because you seem to be speaking in such a way that I would think I remind you of her."  "I think I would probably be her age".

That seems like a good approach. You'll probably laugh when I tell you what made me think it's a possibility. I enjoy watching old reruns of The Golden Girls, and there was an episode where this situation arose with Blanche and her exercise instructor. You can imagine Blanche's surprise when she found out why he had asked her to dinner.

Anyway, it was just a thought, and I think your idea of asking him about it might solve the problem. If he thinks of you as a mother figure that could be a nice thing. If it's something else, the realization that he's young enough to be your son might be enough to get him to back off. Anyway, good luck!

Huh.......the only ones who hit on me are toothless old geezers, with thick glasses and a cane.    I think they're looking for someone to take care of them.

Hey, those Geezers might have a thick wallet.  Which helps overlook the missing teeth.

Take care Di.  I think some rain might be coming your way soon.

just be flattered!!!  Gosh I'm married with 2 young childred.  I'm in my 40's.  Funny story........I was at one of my daughters sporting events when a handsome 20 something year old guy came and stood next to me.  He struck up conversation and was standing maybe just a little bit too close to me.  Gosh I was flattered.  I was thinking..."I still got it".  Then a few minutes later.....An old friend of mine walked over and said "Oh, you met my son".  I dont got it anymore....LOL

This made me laugh!  Yeah, you could probably overlook a lot of things depending on how thick!

I'm always a bit creeped out when younger guys are flirty. I have one friend who is just flattered to death and will return the flirty banter until I'm ready to crawl under a rock. I've never been remotely interested, even when I was much younger. I have a son and it just seems creepy for some guy my son's age (or younger, eh) to flirt.

Sometimes I think they like your personality or think you look good for your age and are just trying to make you feel good. Or they're deadbeats looking for a sugar mama, lol
