Re: @Shanus I have a question about blush.....

Shanus did you say that you use your pink spice lipstick on your cheeks? I've seen other makeup artists do this and it looks so easy. I'm going to try this. Do you put it on the apples of your cheeks and blend it to your hairline?

@50Mickey   Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge was started with this application in mind. She remembered her grandmother putting on lipstick and then putting a bit on her cheeks. The lipstick should not be placed on the apples. If you smile and put a dot on your cheeks (assuming you're over 45), then relax your face, those apples are lower than they used to be dragging your face down if blush is there. It should be applied in a tapping motion  in a small crescent shape, high on the cheekbone, about 2 fingers away from the nose and blended up into the hairline. Start w/ a tiny amount. You can always add more. The reason you stay away from the nose area is so the center of the face remains bright and light as if it were highlighted, but it isn't. I even apply my concealer lower down onto the upper part of my cheek, not just under my eyes. This needs to be done w/ a thin concealer like NARS Radient concealer...in a tube like gloss w/ a doe foot. A thick concealer like Tarte Shape Tape will just settle in the lines. When I do a full face, I'm holding 3 foundation sticks: a lighter shade for the center of the face, a shade darker that matches complexion for the perimeter and a shade darker than that if any contour or a bronzing effect is needed. The center of the face being lighter brings the focus to the eyes, nose, mouth...main features. Uh oh, more info than you asked for.

@Jtdmum   It's been discontinued and not available at Clinique counters. Bluemercury has it.

Pink Spice has not been discontinued.  Look on the clinique website or do a chat on there.  I've worn it for years in the older forumula Long Last Soft Shine and it is now called Dramatically Different and it is the same color.

Some makeup artists  if you have warm coloring you should wear cool blush because the warm blush will make you look to warm and not a good look. And if you are cool coloring stay with warm blush colors. What do you think of this concept.

@cuddlesmama   I don't agree, nor would most professionally trained makeup artists. If your complexion is cool with pink undertones, you'll look muddy w/ a warm, brown toned blush....just as many cooler toned women here complained about foundations being too yellow (warm). If you have warm or olive skin tones, pink/rose blush shades will throw off your coloring the same as a foundation with a pink base. You should stay with makeup in your undertone....foundation, lips, cheeks, bronzer, etc. Yes, not all bronzers are orange based for warmer skin tones. Cool skin tones should look for ones that are not muddy, but rather a pink or neutral tone. If you can't find one, use a foundation (stick or powder) in a few shades darker than your complexion correct shade. If very fair, like me, bronzer doesn't work at all since my coloring doesn't lend itself to any type of sunkissed look. They all look fake. In summer, I may use a darker blush for more color, use it across my nose, chin, top of forehead where bronzer would go...light handed so you don't look like you have a sunburn...blend well. I rarely do it because it doesn't look natural.

Thank you very much I also agree with you and because I have a warm skin tone with olive undertones I feel no color blush looks good on me so I just don't wear blush. But, I am open to your opinion on colors for my skin tone. Thanks
