My hair is very soft. I don’t even use conditioner. I need a shampoo that will take moisture out and give a firm hold. I would appreciate any recommendations!

Before you get any posts, please Google removing moisture from hair.  Dry hair may not be the solution you are looking for.  

Firm control is your goal: perhaps search for how / which products would help you achieve it.

Paul Mitchell Extra Body Styling Gel.  My hair does nothing without this product.  This product also comes in a foam if you want less hold.  I also set my hair with Loreal Elnet Hairspray.     My hair is fine, limp and straight.  This is the only way I can get and keep any body and curl.  And no I don't have helmet head.

Thank you so much! I was thinking about gel, and I wondered whether spray gel would be a good way to go? Does it come in that form ?

I use Aquage uplifting mousse and it gives my hair shine and body.

@MagnoliaMs - I use WEN products and love them. But there are so many products out there. If I were you I would go to a hairstylist you trust and ask for recommendations. 

If you would consider trying WEN, they have an 800 number you can call for advice.

@MagnoliaMs   I'm not sure if you need a different shampoo. You just need a volumizing mousse. I use the ColorWow volumizing one. No conditioner will dry out your hair especially since many volumizing products may have alcohol and strong hold may not be the way to go...your hair can dry out and break off.

@MagnoliaMs I don't believe any shampoo will give you "firm hold"...you need other products for that.
