For my DD's Christmas stocking I was thinking of getting her some shadow sticks. She likes her makeup simple so thought she would like these.  With Sephora's sale coming up, was thinking of getting her one of Laura Mercier's mini holiday sets.  Are they pretty good or are there others that are better?

Personally I like Mallys, I get them reasonably priced on ebay. They are a little on the firm side which I like, prevents creasing, and they do blend nicely.

I have Laura Mercier and Nars. Both work well for me. 💖

I have the Rose Gold color with a shimmer finish that I really like. I mostly use it for a pop in the center of my eyelid - not as the whole eye color. I am not sure about the texture and the colors of the sticks offered in the trio but if you think your daughter would wear those colors, it is worth it as I think the quality is real good.

@JudyL - Of course I've tried them all LOL! I wish MY DD liked her makeup a little simpler! She's more of a makeup fanatic than I am!

I have bought the LM holiday sets and they're nice. I also like Laura Geller's. But Mally was the first one for me, and although the formula has changed slightly, if you like the colors that would be the one I would get for my own DD. I wish Mally's company would release a nice Christmas-themed set soon.

DD also likes Laura's Kajals. So do I!  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom  - Mally had a nice set on this morning - 4 shadow sticks for $30.  Thought that was a great deal.  Had heard that her line had changed so wasn't sure if the quality of her shadow sticks were still good or not.

@JudyL  The Laura Mercier Caviar sticks glide on easily & I have older Lancôme ones too which came in various colors besides neutrals. Now there are only neutrals available on their website -- Ombré Hypnôse Stylo Eyeshadow Stick.

The minis are nice intros to their full sized ones.

Ulta carries Laura Mercier mini sticks in 6 colors besides that 3 pack one for the Holidays.

@JudyL - Wow - People really don't like these! I just saw those sets and it IS a good deal. I'm interested too, but I already have 3 of the neutrals and 2 of the pinks. Of course I don't have the others - and they're the ones I'm interested in!

The formula definitely is different. The owners of Mally should take a lesson from the newer owners of Laura Geller and go back to the formulas that made her famous!

For that price I think it would make a nice gift - about $7.50 for each one. But the Mercier ones are nice too.  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom  - After much thought and looking at different options, think I'll go with the set of Laura Mercier's that I saw on Sephora's website.  Think those will suit my DD best and if she likes them, then it'll be easy for her to get others at ULTA or Sephora.
