Re: Server problems already at Evine

"Evine" is not a catchy nor smart brand name for a shopping channel, IMO. If they named it based on Kathy Levine, that's not smart business practice (again my opinion)-

However, I do like some of the brands and garments they carry and the prices and low shipping are great! I do shop there- I hope the good buyer choices continue...

Unfortunately I buy less and less at the Q. Not a fan of Liz, Graver or Isaac. They need another line- All these lines are very focused to one demographic, and there are little coverage to other populations. JMHO.

I totally do not like the name change. Or how it is becoming Unwatchable. Oh well. Saves me money!! I finally just got used to calling it ShopHQ instead of ShopNBC!!!

As far as the changes go - just don't mess with Dimitri James and I'll be fine.

I wish he'd come to Q. It would be fun to bring Dimitri James and Pat James Dimentri together.

LOL - that would be funny!

On a (slightly) more serious note, I can't see the Q wanting Dimitri, really - they have so many "high end" skin care lines, and Dimitri spends a lot of air time cheerfully debunking those.

Re: Server problems already at Evine

I checked several times over the weekend and half the time no sound and the picture was jumping and fuzzy on TV

Re: Server problems already at Evine

the NEW name is HORRIBLE -

the Hosts are the WORST - connie, melissa (just the WORST hosts of ALL times) a few more also BUT these 2 HAVE GOT TO GO

they spend TOO much time selling OUTRAGEOUSLY priced watches AND then the hand bags ...???

the trying to copy QVC's out door OR off to another city Jewelry shows are just PLAIN tacky looking

they NEED MUCH MORE re-inventing THAT just a name WHICH they have changed 4 times in the past ??? 6, 7 years now

I saw the Countess (LuAnn) on last night and she SHOULD NOT be presenting her line - (which BY THE WAY looks CHEAP & CHEAP)

all she kept says was: lovely, classy, chic, a man will say wow, a man will love it.........

this SHOP station is CERTAINLY not QVC or HSN they present well as do their Vendors

actually I heard that lovely host, Wendy I think is her name, explain the name Evine.

E for electronic retailer

Vine - for as she said, like hearing it through the grapevine.

So together E+vine = Evine.

Maybe not the cleverest name, but I imagine it can't be easy to come up with something short and to the point. I know what QVC stands for but to this day have no idea what HSN stands for.

I'm done with P.C. Just say what you mean and mean what you say. It's easier.

Re: Server problems already at Evine

I think the name is horrible and it seems very strange to me that they continually change their name. ValueVision, ShopNBC, ShopHQ and now Evine Live.

I do shop periodically there but IMO the programming live from The Plaza was horrible. The sound was atrocious, it was so noisy in the background you could barely hear hosts, the picture was terrible and the merchandise presented was weird. $160.00 bathrobe from The Plaza? Ummm, no thanks.

I'm also not impressed with the line-up of new vendors. Lisa Vanderpump with glass and mystery metal, gaudy jewelry, Todd English who has certainly had his fair share of problems and Paula Deen premiering on March 25.

I also found it very, very odd that Chuck Clemency and Michael V weren't included in this launch since they surely have been a big part of that network.

I always thought HSN stood for Home Shopping Network. I'm not thrilled with a name like Evine, but at least it makes more sense than Quality Value Convenience--a name that many can argue no longer applies to QVC. Thanks for the background info about Evine. I've been wondering what it meant.
