Recently, I went to our local mini Sephora to pick up my favorite NARS Foundation.  I also picked up Lanocome Bi-facil that I was almost out of and an eyeliner.  When I checked out the girl said I had earned a 15% discount to be used between 9/17 and 9/21 and gave me a card to use.

Today I decided to use my card.  I had been eyeing a lip treatment that had glycolic acid in it and since dry lip season is coming that was what I wanted to get.  I decided to also get a lip mask that one of the reviewers recommended that can also be used as a gloss or underneath a matte lipstick according to the product video.

When I got to checkout, I picked my 2 free trial sizes and then entered the code on the card and I got an error message that the code was not valid.  I checked all the fine print on the back of the card to see if there were exclusions or something, but none of the exclusions applied to me.  Then, I noticed the bar code on the back of the card and the number underneath it was exactly the same number as the promo code on the front except the last 2 digits were transposed.  I entered that number and it worked.

I almost forgot to check my Rebate sites, but did remember.  Rakuten had up to 6% off; however, after I exited the site it indicated only 2% except IT Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Georgio Armini Beauty, L'Oreal, Makeup For Ever, and Yves Saint Laurent.  So, if you're looking to get any of those brands Rakuten has 6% back on those.

BTW, one of the free trial sizes was the Anastasia Brow Definer I saw them selling on QVC the other day.  I'm happy with what I'm using and don't care for pencil-type brow products so didn't get that.  I got the Kate Somerville Exfolikate and some brand I had never heard of serum for pores.
