Self tanners and models

How come when the models demonstrate their 1 arm or 1 leg tanned, the next day if they are modeling jewelry or fashion, the tan is gone? I noticed this morning the blonde model on AM style had a top on and last night she had 1 tanned arm and today they both look pale. Maybe I am not seeing it right but it seemed strange. I believe her name is Stacy Ann.
