Self tanner & Retin A?

Does anyone use these products simultaneously? Or do they become counter-productive? I stopped sunless tanning when I originally started using Tazorac (which is synthetic Retin A). But when I see pictures of me, I look better with the tan.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking of going with the more natural Josie Maran (AAAARGAN OOOIL!!!).
