Desi, think as long as you don't eat anything that roots or moves backward you are good to go for New Year's Day. On our local news stations, well, Philly that is said that oriental is the upcoming places to eat for holidays and Christmas and New Years both eve and day are the preferred place to eat. I know all our oriental buffets are open every day of the year and only charge $2 or $4 more for a special holiday but then they have some special things those days. They have all added sushi bars as well as pick your own foods and they will grill them for you while you watch, seafood, steak, chicken, veggies etc all included. Most have at least 7 buffet bars plus the sushi and grill bars. Prices for Monday through Wednesday are around $10 and Thursday, Friday and Saturday $12 and Sunday $11. These are dinner prices, lunch is much cheaper but than they don't have the crab legs, steamed clams and shrimp co*ktail for lunch and who is up at that time, not me, lol.
I think $49 is great for a whole entire complete meal already made and just reheat the next day since you pick it up the day before the holiday.
Is she the one that had those bangs I sent back?
up early today because little boy had another seizure. This one lasted about an hour but he still isn't up to par, happened around 11:30 AM.
Sure hope the boards improve(people wise) for the new year.

Doglover, hope Mickey is okay and didn't have another seizure. Barkley might have one and not another for months, or several in a week, never knew what to expect.
If we get house fried rice (if we do Chinese) that covers chicken, pigs and fish, lol!
I know prices are higher here, but you could actually double (or more) the prices you pay for buffet and a precooked meal here vs there. There are less pricey places but they are a good drive away so we don't unless we are already in the area.
Getting cold here again.
Yep, those were her bangs that your returned. No idea how everything looks better on TV than at home. I really think they style all the wigs they show beforehand so they look fine when just thrown on. I know for sure the lace-fronts were already trimmed and they don't come pre-cut, so maybe they fixed them up while they were at it.

Desi, think you are right, wigs are probably professionally styled before they go on air, am sure you don't get ones that look like that, I never did anyway.
We have great prices with great food here but than incomes probably are a whole lot lower here than where you are as are home prices so guess it all would be equal.
I use to make fried rice a lot, got a recipe from me friend that was born and raised in the Philippines. We like fried rice but prefer lo mein although when we go to the buffets I stick to the large shrimp(co*tail) and steamed clams and crab legs but I also like the sauteed veggies.

Doglover, play it by ear with Mickey. I agree if they are more than once a month or get more severe, then maybe consider the meds. We chose not to. I was afraid Barkly would turn into a zombie-dog on them, but the vet said their bodies adjust and they are okay.
It probably does balance out, but any Asian buffets left here are about 29.00 a meal on week-ends. We just can't and won't do that. Most of them are gone. I think raising prices drove business away, and maybe it wasn't profitable unless they did, who knows? Haven't been to one in over 10 yrs, maybe more.
Okay guys, one more day of December. Do I bother starting a Jan. thread?
‎12-31-2014 04:58 AM
Desi, do start a new thread for the new year and maybe think of something that would draw more to it, something for everyone. You are much better at that than I am.
yes, vet said too he doesn't want to give him anything, said to wait and see since he doesn't like to give meds unless absolutely necessary because of side effects. I am glad our vet is like that since so many push pills all the time.
I think because we have so many here and we sure do have a lot of them that they have to compete so prices are so reasonable even a holiday which is the most is $12 something and that's the most. They have something for everyone though even steak. turkey and ham and a few have sausage as well as pork and other things but all have steamed clams, large shrimp co*ktail, crab legs plus all the usual oriental foods and a dessert bar and a build your own sundae bar. None has fewer than 7 buffet tables plus the hibachi grill and sushi bar so they are all good deals. The one we go to is one that is farther away, 20 minutes, but we like that one the best. Hot tea goes with all of them but ice tea of soda is $1.50 more but is all you want.

Desi, forgot, went to Walmart late last night and did pick up some Christmas stuff for the tree and living room. Everything was 50 and 60% off, good deal. I needed things since I had DS take our 7 foot fiber optic tree down into the basement and bring up the table top one since the floor one took up so much more room and being I leave them up all the time this is so much better. I decorate for the seasons so I needed smaller things for this tree since the other stuff didn't look nice on the small size tree.
I also picked up the new CG Bloom mascara, hate it. Says it is soft which it is, says makes lashes fuller, doesn't and is a bugger to try and get off so, stuck with it since Walmart doesn't take opened cosmetics back so, a loss $6.94, wasn't terrible loss but $7 is $7 huh. I should learn, should get things I don't know about someplace I can return them just in case, usually get them at either Rite Aid, Walgreens or CVS so I can return if they aren't good but I was there and they were on an end cap being new when I was walking by and just picked one up.

First, Happy New Year to everyone (or it will be at midnight). We have no plans which is fine with me. It's very cold out. We did get take-out for dinner. Watching TV but there's on. Carolyn G. looks great tonight, love her outfit and hair.
Doglover, the places that are open are usually mobbed anytime we go but none are very cheap. Even the very casual ones.
Too bad about the mascara not being great. It's a shame they don't take them back
I don't feel like I should have to really push to get people to post here. If I change the header, no one will know it's this thread anyway. Kind of makes me sad that everyone has drifted away.
I resisted buying marked down Christmas stuff because by next year I won't be able to find it - you know how that goes!
‎01-01-2015 02:08 AM
Desi, boy do I know how that goes and end up having to get more next year.
‎01-01-2015 02:10 AM
Happy New Year, and good-by 2014! May 2015 be healthy, happy and prosperous for everyone.
