Re: Salon Hair Color Question

@cuddlesmama: It depends on the color system your salon uses so you just need to call ask.  Generally, the dirtier the better.

Hope you have wonderful day!

Re: Salon Hair Color Question

No no no, color holds better to dirty hair. Also the natural oils on dirty hair will protect your scalp in the coloring process. Try not to wash your hair for 48 hours after the coloring process so the cuticle closes. Your color will last longer

Re: Salon Hair Color Question

Most of the time I don't wash my hair before I go. She puts the dye on my dry hair, I then wait three days before I wash my hair after getting my hair dyed.

Re: Salon Hair Color Question

@cuddlesmama I have had colorists tell me if your hair is oily then wash it before you go to the salon and some tell me it is not a good idea  I usually wash and do not use any hair styling products before going.

Re: Salon Hair Color Question

KatCat1: FYI...........I have been going to get my hair colored for years by a high end salon. My colorist has suggested shampooing my hair prior to the color. It looks FAB!

No, I was advised not to shampoo my hair before any salon appointment.
