September is part of summer to me.  It stays warm for the most part.  The storm season is gone from Maryalnd.  That's the major change. In many ways it's my favorite season.  The transition.

I am in a no-snow zone, lots of sunny days in Fall and winter. It can drop into the 30's, but rarely. That is more of a nuisance than anything! I came to this area because my bones feel like a million bucks here, they melt away, few aches and pains for my arthritic self!

nothing changes in central Florida in the fall-except the license plates. The snowbirds will start arriving soon.

Two more months of hurricane season. Hopefully it will remain uneventful.

Temps are around 90, will gradually dip to mid 80s and stay there.

Winter is our time to come out of hibernation. We bbq, ride bikes, hike, golf, we can actually go outdoors and enjoy it and not sweat. Our cars aren't 140 degrees when we get in them, we don't need a potholder on the steering wheel. We can wear long sleeved shirts, pants and boots. Love the shorter days and cooler weather.

We still have tomorrow! I posted somewhere else you have to drag me kicking and screaming from the end of summer!

It's not just the weather for me - it's the whole feeling, like baseball, festivals, summer food like peaches, corn, and watermelon. It's relaxing and reading a book outside, driving with the windows open, and wearing sandals all of the time.

I don't like cold weather at all!

HOWEVER, I can't wait for the fall colors in makeup and clothes. After tomorrow, I won't wear white - it's just my thing; I certainly don't fault anyone who does. It's one the ways I honor the memory of my mom, my aunt, and my grandmother. I still wear summer clothes, but in darker colors. I call it my late summer wardrobe!  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom  -  The dreariness of winter is depressing to me.  The short days stink too.  I love the long days of summer.

As far as clothing, I will wear my summer clothes after Labor Day (including white) until the weather changes.  September in my area is still summer weather.

I prefer winter with snuggly sweaters. That's about as cold as it's gotten here...no coats needed. Someone said with the crazy rains, storms and extreme heat we've had to expect one he*l of a winter. OH NO!!

Here in the Bay Area, our warmest months are Sept until about mid-October.  However, this year, at least where I live, trees are aleady changing color.  That usually doesn't happen until some time in October.  Already heard the geese flying over heading towards the golf course and the bird reserve.  I'm hoping all of this means we'll have an early Fall.

I have a very old photo of my parents in SF in mid Sept., my Mom is in sleeveless, I was there twice in July and it was freezing!!!

@Shelbelle  - That is typical San Francisco summer weather! LOL

@JudyL @I know you are further North than I am,.  It's been hot here, 100, but Sept and part of Oct are our new July and August I think.  My granddaughter took this photo in Manhattan Beach . Could just as well be up North tooIMG_1398.jpegthe other day about 7pm....Ah, California

@shoekitty  - That picture brings back so many memories.  I live in the Bay Area now, but was rasied in So California and we had a beach house in Newport Beach.  I loved going to the beach and watching the sunsets.  Thanks for sharing the picture.
