Funny....I work from home and I've always considered one of the perks to that being that I can wear perfume all I want....and lots of it if I want. Ha! I like it when others wear perfume, too.....and I mean out in public around people...as I like it when people smell good. I also like fragrance in cosmetics and personal products....but that's me. I don't wear perfume around people myself because I am aware that many folks don't like it or are sensitive to smells.

In the last year, I've started wearing perfume again. I only wear it if I'm not going out that day. I know how scents can be overwhelming to some people. 

I typically wear Chanel No.19 or Chanel No. 5, these fragrances have been my favs forever. When I was younger, I liked Opium.

I haven't in a long time. I have COPD and it really bothers me. I even have trouble walking thru the perfume aisle at the dept. store.

No dissapointingly. 
At some point (in my 40's) I had to stop because scents were bothering me. 

But recently I have decided why. As I hit menopause and after, all of my nasal passages (and EVERYTHING ELSE TOO) have dried up! I believe this accounts for so many issues for me, even my hearing!

I have to sleep in the winter months with a humidifier so I don't get a nosebleed.  It is usually humid the other months, so not a problem then.  I feel your pain!

Perfume doesn't bother me, but fire smoke will give me a sick migraine.

I stopped wearing fragrances the first time someone told me that it bothered her. I used to love Dolce and Gabbana Blue before I became aware of how some people experienced an unpleasant allergic reaction to fragrance. I am concerned about anyone who is not aware that an untoward reaction to fragrance is a medical condition and thinks that it is fine to wear fragrance in public and that anyone disturbed by that should jump through some kind of hoop to stay away from fragrance wearers. That is a disturbing level of narcissism.

The old style loud scents smell old lady to me now and I am an old lady.  They linger on you, your clothes and in the air and soon I want to gag.  

 OH wait!  One stronger one I love is Hermes Elixir des Merveilles.  I've never smelled anything else like it.  But I don't often wear it.  It smells like happiness to me.

Lighter scents like Jo Malone, I wear sometimes, but not something with big staying power.  I have a box full I really need to pitch out.

I happily wear perfume whenever I want to.  There are times when I am asked not to for certain medical appointments and I respect that.  I try to be mindful and not wear anything too strong if I'm going to be in close proximity to someone else for an extended period of time, like a doctor or dental appointment.  Several years ago I overlooked that and wore either Angel or Alien to a dental appointment.  First the technician complimented me.  Then the dentist (female) raved over it. 

Back in the day, everyone knew how to be aware of their own limitations, whether allergies or preferences, and deal with them themself accordingly (wait for the next elevator, get in a different line, take a seat away from others, bring their own safe foods, etc.) but somewhere along the line the public has become expected to kowtow to everyone else, to the neglect of their own preferences and pleasures.  Worrying about the possibility of triggering someone thru everything I do sounds virtuous but it's exhausting, IMO.

I used to love Beautiful by Estee Lauder.  But then I started having sinus trouble and would get this strange cigarette smoke smell at random times.  I stopped wearing cologne and that smell stopped.  I do think that fewer people (men and women) are wearing fragrance these days because of all different forms of sensitivity.
