@Shanus   I've used sleep masks for years. I like them with the hollowed space for eyes and also look for ones that block all light. Besides light coming in the window, all those little lights on almost everything that plugs in are bad for us.They mess with our circadian rhythm.

I need a pitch dark room very quiet to sleep but I could not wear  a sleep mask like that. Nothing in my room has lights and no alarm clock with lights. Even  ticking alarm clocks would drive me nuts.  We have a chiming clock in the LR that dings every 15 minutes but I need my door shut and I have 3 thick robes hanging from the hook inside the door to muffle the sound.

The masks are great but f you have heat issues they have to be 100 percent silk so one doesn't perspire their brains off.

I had a better idea but did start with 100 percent sillk from Bloomies called "slip".  These breath, ahhhh... but it still bothers something me on my face. A creepy feeling for me. If you do it folks make sure itr's 100 percent silk - yes more $$$  especially for women.

However It was not to be enjoyed and I am measuring just the bedroom these really cool "push up-slide down black outs in honeycomb style.  I will get the double honeycomb for heat reduction  (Florida) honeycomb as it helps with one's power bill if you live in extreme heat. I am only doing this in my bedroom.  We have an appointment to measure ( Ihave two windows 9 feet as well side by side and I suspect it will be under 900.00 fingers crossed.)  (I face east, ugh, always a problem for morning.   sleepers but the problem will be solved and well worth it.  Many I know love them as well. I learned by looking at my friends homes  (I don't think they are necessary up north or in cooler climate.....unless your in the devils territory.Woman LOL  You all know where I'm talking about, good grief.

By the way having a professional measyre guy come in from the company is important. Ayayaya....where I am now they are sized all wrong and extend at least 2 inches/

There is nothing better than a good nights sleep especially for your skin and beauty than a good nights sleep no matter how it works for you.  Smiley Happy.

I can tell you they work as  I am in one myself now before I move to my own home and the simple push up, pull down is the best. They have all types.  like one see out but not see in is very cool as well, etcetera.

If I was you @Shanus  I would mention it to the neighbor but always find it best to go directly to management and stay out of it once you have issued your complaint.  Good luck. (I sure hope you have management to assist.)

PS. I too have these high old fashioned like night tall lamps (no matter how pretty) across the street  like in 'My Fair Lady" the movie and if it had not been for those black out shades I would have lost my mind by now,

!! I''m serious.

PS. years ago my hubby and I lived in Miami in another high 28 story high rise and we had the same issue.  I got that one taken care of real fast. lol. (like a bull), ha.

Re: SLEEP MASKS OVER EYES

[ Edited ]

@Pink123   Our place came with pull down black shades on all 9' windows (every room is almost all windows)...end of the hall apartment on corner. beautiful views of trees and lake so I just don't like keeping the bedroom shade down at 6:30PM and their light are set to go off at 11. I'm ready for bed and asleep by 10PM.

I hope your shades work out for you. Thanks for the tip about the silk masks. I have a lot of family in FL and my parents used to live there, too. I thought I was to the heat/humidity until I go to FL to visit...YUCK! Now my DD and SIL are retiring there (I think she said Tampa) in about 18 mos to 2 yrs. They have their land on the water (for their boat) and will finalize plans w/ builder when they go in October. I guess when I visit them it'll be shorts and sweat, etc. They're moving from Seattle and can't wait to ditch the dreary days and rain.

I'm a very particular sleeper, cold temps on thermastat at night (set to 62) and lightweight short nighties. We have a fan on the ceiling that came w/ apartment and stays on low. Cold room and down comforter and definitely dark. I'm also a light sleeper, so if Molly or DH move around I can sense it immediately. I say "sense it" because when hearing aids come out at bedtime, I hear nothing. I had a special wireless doorbell installed that rings in living room and bedroom. Sign at outside door says Hearing Impaired so the workman, etc. know not to just knock on door. My home had an alarm system with panels in every room where I could ring for police or firemen or medical assistance. Not so here, but looking into the possibility of a wireless one.

Hope your blinds do the trick. Keep in touch and let us know.
