Hi @WI CUSTOMER - My skin is combination and not really dry, but I will tell you my story!
Until not that long ago the only product I used on my face was sunscreen. I had never used serums, AHA, BHA, or anything like those. I went to bed at night with a bare face.
I had been using different products, mostly Josie Maran, off and on for a while. Then I decided to try something else. I settled on Beekman Advanced Aging Serum and Eye Cream.
In the morning I always wash my face with Tatcha's rice powder. I've been washing my face with some kind of rice powder since I taught in Japan in my early 20's. I just really enjoy the mini facial I give myself every morning! I follow that with the serum and a sunscreen. At night I use both the serum and eye cream. That's it - I'm pretty simple!
I know you'll get some good advice here, and I hope you find some products you really like! ![]()

Hope you get a lot of good ideas to choose from! I have very sensitive skin and lot of issues which seem to change constantly. I change my cleansers and moisturizers all the time. One I feel is good for dry skin is LaRoche Posay Creme Cleanser and also their moisturizer.
Two other good products - Cerave Hydrafting Foaming Oil Cream Cleanser and Vanicream Facial Moisturizer. Very good for dry skin.

Hi @WI CUSTOMER . I use:
1. Kiehl's Oil Cleanser at night to remove my sunscreen and very minimal makeup. I like it because it's gentle and I can also remove any eye makeup, too.
2. In the summer, I can use Retin A three nights a week (two nights in winter when skin is more dry). On the nights when I skip Retin A, I use Skinceuticals 2:4:2...a rich moisturizer. I can go up to under my eyes with that so no eye cream is needed.
3. In the morning just a splash of cool water. Next is Vit. C serum from DRMTLGY and Skinceuticals Emolliance moisturizer before my SPF also DRMTLGY. It comes in tinted or untinted.
4. A few times a year (when seasons change) I give myself an acid peel to do a good exfoliation.
5. Once a month I get a facial that exfoliates and deep cleanses.
***This is a simple routine w/o the many steps and products I used before.

AlphaSkin(dot com) offers some kits that I think might help. Their primary active ingredient is glycolic acid, an AHA, where that can brighten, exfoliate and hydrate the skin all by using that one active ingredient. Glycolic acid will give the glow back. Their kits are frequently sold out but check back for restock status. I highly recommend Alpha Skin Care products. They are tried and true. Have been around for decades with a huge cult following. I've been using their body lotion for over 25 years.

One of my daughters keeps having skin biopsies and excisions, we always laugh that the doctor's instructions always end with sun protection 🌞

There are so many different products out there. Will let you know what I do and hopefully that will help and give you some suggestions to try.
Morning:
Sometimes I cleanse with Perlier cream cleanser and sometimes I splash with water only or use a Micellar Water; then I use a hydrating essence/toner which right now is Numbuzin #3 (also can use a hydrating spray such as the d'Alba spray); twice a week I use Replenix exfoliating pads; then on to Vit C - using Timeless Vit C right now - then Timeless COQ10 serum; Perlier Youth Creator serum; Mad Hippie eye cream; then spf.
Evening - cleanse with a cleansing balm - Banilla & Co - then cleanse with either Perlier cream cleanser or a La Roche-Posay cleaser; toner/essense - right now it's Numbuzin #9; then Naturium Retinaldehyde; then Perlier Youth Creator serum; then a milky toner, which right now is HaruHaru; then Beauty by Joseon eye cream. If I feel it's necessary, I will use a nighttime moisturizer which right now is by Elemis.

@WI CUSTOMER I do not have pretty skin.
I have never had pretty skin.
My skin is combination/oily/large pores/easily dehydrated/breaks out from everything/& now 65 year old skin.
Over the years I have used every serum, moisturized, cleanser, treatment, exfoliator, & anything else sold to improve my skin.
I am not saying that these products are bad, BUT...I went from trying every expensive to inexpensive skincare item suitable for my skin to a very simple routine.
It has changed...nothing....my skin never looked great with all of the serums/moisturizers/etc.
My dark spots were never lightened.
My skin never looked "brighter" or less dull or glowy.
My wrinkles are few, but appropriate for 65.
I use 100% argan oil that I get in a big bottle off of Amazon as makeup remover. It is gentle, doesn't leave an oily film & while I don't find it moisturizing, it is soothing.
I use First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. At night after I use the argan oil & in the morning.
And this is what I have found. I LOVE Trader Joe's skincare. The moisturizers are great, including the eye cream.
The Supremely Hydrating Eye Cream is $5.99 for .53 oz & it is the best eye cream I have ever used. My skin is oily but my eye area is more dry & I have used so many expensive eye creams.
Nourish Oil Free Anti Oxident Facial Moisturizer comes in a 6 oz pump bottle & is around $7-8. Amazon has it listed, but it is $13 there.
Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer is $8.99 for 2.5 oz. Also great but for the price difference & the pump I usually stick with that one.
They have different "treatment" products that are also reasonably priced, & I have tried them, but I truly don't see real results.
The Hand & Body Cream is $3.99 for 16 oz & is scent free. I love Korres Body Creams, but this one is just as nice.
They also have a lip mask, similar to Laneige, that I always stock up on.
If you get a chance to try anything I would love to hear what you think.

I have been going the simple, less complicated, more effective, and less expensive route for my night time routine. I cleanse with Tatcha oil cleanser followed by organic rosehip seed oil on the face, neck, and eye area.
Then I use just a little organic shea butter over that on just the neck and couple spots on the face. Rosehip seed oil is a drier type oil so absorbs well and not greasy, but boy is it a powerhouse. Natural vitamin A (retinol) it stimulates collagen production, and lightens pigmentation and much more.
During the day I again cleanse with Tatcha oil cleanser, use Farmhouse fresh "finely awake" face exfoliator 2-3 x week, followed by Tatcha silk serum and silk cream. And on occasion during the day I apply a little of my shea butter on my neck to keep it well moisturized.
I'm sure you have heard that skin care is important but in order for anything to work well, your skin must be exfoliated regularly. That, and a healthy diet, excercise, and enough sleep. IMO without these, the rest is not going to be as effective.

My derm recommended La Roche Posay for my dry skin and I love it. I get it at Target when they have a sale. Simple and effective.
