I confess I have too many "back-ups" of skincare items, shower gels, etc. I need to concentrate on using what I have. All my clothes fit me so don't have much to get rid of, but I don't need to keep buying more. I try never to waste food--use up leftovers, etc. Good idea to use what is in the freezer because items can go bad. I will be doing that. Also, not keep such a large amount of non-perishable food items. I cook for one and don't need back-ups on a lot of the items.

This is a great idea. I admit I have to start with an eyeshadow palette I picked up at Walmart today. It was only $6.00, but I didn't need it and these small purchases add up. I feel really guilty about it.

I would like to join you ladies. I just have too much stuff.
I watch someone online, Elle is for Living. She is going to focus her videos next year on appreciating what we have and not buying every new thing that comes out. Her videos may help.
She did one earlier in the year that was very good.

One "hint" I have is that I always return an item that is either defective or I realize that I wont get my money's worth of use from it. I read many saying that they didn't like XX brand mascara so they tossed it; bought Temp-tations and didn't like the way it was painted so they threw it in the garbage, etc. I try to always get a refund even if I have to pay the postage to return an item that I decided I really didn't need or like. Will be more cautious from ordering from QVC and other sites where I have to pay the postage to return an item. Getting very costly to send items back.

My biggest splurge is my 9 year old granddaughter. So I guess she's in this along with me!
Count us in.

One thing that can really get out of hand is buying back-ups of things because they're on sale at some amazing price.
First of all, by the time I finish my product, I may have decided I want to use something else. Second of all, storing back-ups in multiples can mean that my product may not be as fresh by the time you get to it. Third, they take up too much storage room.
And finally, I have to remember that there will ALWAYS BE ANOTHER AMAZING SALE.

You ladies are my motivation!
I thought of another place which s*cks me in. KOHLS! When I receive a 30% coupon, I just have to use it. They are marketing geniuses. No more.
Two things I will try my best to avoid:
sales
easy pay
