Yesterday I reached into my panty drawer and pulled out a pair that had outlived its effectiveness. I decided to go though that entire drawer and discarded all the ones where the elastic was ratty and/or they just didn't look so good any more. Fortunately there was no need to purchase more beause I was able to replace all the old ones with new ones from my backup supply. Today I'm tackling bras, camisoles, and sleepwear.

I'm happy to say that I finished going through all my books yesterday. I've got a total of 87 that are in the donation box. Really happy about that. I don't have the goal of getting rid of most of my books. I like them. My goal leans more towards "one in, one out".
I'm one of those few people who doesn't do well with reading on Kindles. I have a neurological movement disorder which is triggered by certain sights and sounds. Looking at a screen (computer, tablet, or even fast-forwarding the t.v.), triggers my disorder. I have to keep my exposure to about half an hour at a time. Old-fashioned books are best for me.

Well, I kinda , sorta blew it. I am out of spackle so I bought one of the large ones because it is a better deal than the tubes. I also bought the lock n lock set that was the tsv because so many of mine have walked away and not returned that I do actually NEED them and it was a great deal. Now I do feel somewhat guilty. I was looking at a yellow diamond ring that was very well priced and DH said he would pay for it for my anniversary gift but it was on waitlist in my size and color so I let it go by.

On 1/8/2015 cerb said:cerb--- WOW! We could be twins re: your books! I so understand and can appreciate everything you shared....books are my huge "addiction." My goal is to get more of them read vs sitting here in our home library looking like Barnes and Noble! Then, I can do more downsizing. Thanks so much for sharing!Hi everyone, I'm on board. Have to admit I'm NOT off to a great start. I've already purchased a second-hand Isaac Mizrahi sweater online, and then found a scarf that matches an Isaac sweater that I already own.
In addition, I ordered 57 used books (I have an actual library in my house). I got a good deal on them, but the problem is, my library is full. So this week I've been taking inventory of my books and organizing them. I've put 61 books in the donation box so far. I'm really happy to be getting rid of more than I'm bringing in.
The other reason I'm going through my books is to make an imprint on my mind, just how MANY books I actually own. When I look at them and touch them, it reminds me that I have "enough." For me, it's definitely a work in progress.

Last summer I found a great sale on bras at Lane Bryant - they were on BOGO so I bought all 10 I found in my size. Last week I decided to go through my bras and discard the old ones with stretched out elastic etc - I still have 21!! Won't need to buy anymore for quite a while. It is nice when all the ones you own are in great shape. As for panties - i am allergic to latex so as soon as any of the elastic gets exposed I have to toss them so I go through them really quickly.

HH you didn't blow it as it was something you needed. I will certainly order more Purity Made Simple when I run out as it is the only makeup remover that doesn't irritate my eyes.
I have always thought the Lock and Lock was one of the really good values for all the pieces that you get. I guess my L&L ran away with yours as I am missing some and can't for the life of me figure out where they went.
My biggest spending frenzy was on makeup, shoes/boots, handbags (have a special closet for just them) and lots and lots of clothes. The clothes, handbags and shoes are all nice, but I just don't need anymore for a long long time. As far as makeup and body lotions I have enough to last well, forever, lol.
Best Wishes
Vicki

I wonder if our lock n locks have eloped and are raising a family of their own somewhere.Or maybe they joined a cult and are living in a complex in the desert somewhere?

Happy Saturday ladies. It's c-c-c-cold in my neck of the woods, but the sunshine is a welcomed site. Boxed up kitchen things I haven't used for years. Daughter and DIL will divide among themselves. As I've mentioned before, why do I need 6 platters? Last fall I gave away clothes too big. It's time - I must buy some navy and black pants, but I need them.
Watching Treehouse Masters with grandson. When his mom picks him up, I'll get going on a few organization projects around the house.
How is everyone here doing? Have a good and productive weekend!

On the simplification front, I am declaring a news blackout for myself from right this minute until Monday morning. I'm a news junkie and I have a habit of reading various news sites multiple times each day looking for updates, and I can't help but think that it isn't a good thing.
So, in the interest of happiness, emotional self preservation, and clearing my mind of clutter, I'm going to see how this goes and possibly declare a blackout for next week, too. Then in the future only use the Weather channel app on phone and delete the news apps on there.
Thank you, View. Great idea. I'm feeling a bit heavy in my spirit because of local and international news events over the past few days. I want to keep informed, but not drenched in it. Great reminder! Count me in to limit the influx of news I expose myself to.
