Good Morning To All. Hope you are warm and toasty if you are living where the deep freeze is going on. Our high yesterday was 3 degrees Farenheit. Now that's pretty darn cold!!
I finally went through the cabinet under one of my bathroom sinks and was shocked and ashamed at all of the beauty products I had ordered and forgotten. It was really ridiculous. The really bad part was I had some things unopened that had come in different kits. Needless to say I will not be ordering any moisturizers, eyeshadows, primers, eyeliners and so on and so forth. It makes me so mad at myself for having done this and I don't understand why I did this.
I think when I tackle another cabinet, closet or drawer it really does help to build up my resolve to stop ordering this stuff.
The weekend is almost upon us and I hope everyone has a great one!!!

Went through a huge pile of paperwork. Ditched most and filed the rest, trying to get on target for having all of my tax stuff ready for tax season.
On the simplification front, I am declaring a news blackout for myself from right this minute until Monday morning. I'm a news junkie and I have a habit of reading various news sites multiple times each day looking for updates, and I can't help but think that it isn't a good thing.
So, in the interest of happiness, emotional self preservation, and clearing my mind of clutter, I'm going to see how this goes and possibly declare a blackout for next week, too. Then in the future only use the Weather channel app on phone and delete the news apps on there.

I have always said that if you get a little unexpected money something will come along very soon to take it.
Back in the 70s I was an office manager of a small company where I did just about everything ie payroll, accts. receivable/payable/purchasing and so on. One day my employer made a rare visit to the office and gave me a raise and a cash bonus for doing a good job. The cash was $300.00 which I was thrilled to get. On the way home from work my car broke down and had to be towed to the garage. Total cost including repairs was 298.00!! Incidents like this have happened to me more than once, however I always looked at it as a good thing since I had the extra to cover the costs.
Hope your daughter does well and doesn't have too much pain after her surgery. Our neighbor's daughter just had this done last week and after a couple of days of swelling she has done fine.
Still haven't checked out the homepage of QVC!!!! No telling how much money I have saved so far this year. Feels good.
Best Wishes

Doing pretty good so far. Used my gift card for Lululemon and only went $12 over. Today I need to pick up a new arm band to hold my phone (use it when running). My old one is has its neoprene strap almost ripped all the way through (not guilt about this purchase coming).
It has been hard but no Q purchases this year, so far ![]()

Today marks 21 days since I purchased anything from the Q. They say it takes 30 days to break a habit.
Enjoy the weekend!

I have a very useful little mantra, popular during the Depression, that serves as a reminder to simplify:
Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

I returned two dresses and a pair of boots yesterday that I really didn't need, and will be returning two sweaters and yet another pair of boots today. The credits from all of that merchandise will bring a nice chunk of change to put in my savings account!
I haven't had much time for decluttering this past week, but hoping to spend some time on it tomorrow, and I've designated the holiday on January 19 as a day to work on it.
Glad to see so many are still going strong!
ETA: I have to confess that I did buy a winter scarf at LOFT the other day. We had our first frigid days where I live last week, and when I pulled out my scarves, hats, and gloves, I was dismayed to find they were all in terrible shape. Holes, ratty, etc. (I really need to think about some moth damage prevention this year). Anyway, the scarf was marked from $39.50 down to $14.99 with an additional 60% off, so it was a total steal at $6 (plus tax)! I still need a hat and some gloves, but those really are needs and I will buy them on sale. I haven't bought any winter accessories for at least a few years.
