It's been 23 days since I ordered from the Q.
I almost gave in this morning when I saw the humidifier as the TSV. Then I remembered I just ordered a new valve for my whole house humidifier and won't need a room one.
Whew, that was close!

3redheads ~ congrats on dodging that purchase, good job! I had to "sit on my hands" while all the LOGO presentations were on, but didn't purchase!
Good for us!

Well I work full-time so could only clean closets or rooms on the weekends. And at 64 years old a lot of week-end time for me is resting so I can tackle the next week at work. I did buy one item which was a gift to me, from me for my birthday on January 4th and also for my 20 year anniversary of working for my employer next month on February 6, 2015. I really wanted to order that Perlier Today's Special last week. Maybe someday I will try that body balm/lotion. So that is my contribution for the week. LOL

I'm glad I checked in here today. It apparently got me off the couch and looking for things to fill my trash can before pickup! Done!! Every little bit helps!!

I am reading Peter Walsh's book: It's All Too Much to help support my efforts to pare down. I am working on two drawers in my dining room, after which that room will be done. I am trying to hit an area of a room each day as time allows. Next will be a linen chest in the living room, and that room will also be decluttered. Having guests over last week helped the process. I am already enjoying my home more. Making a daily effort to bring only food into the house. No household or cleaning items are needed for the forseeable future. Certainly no watching of HGTV or shows featuring YHJ or VPH. I also try to fill two bags daily: one to donate, one for trash. When the main living areas have been fully decluttered, I may reward my efforts by hiring a housekeeping service for a few hours to really make the place shine!

I started cleaning out rooms a few months ago.
What made me start was I took a picture of my kitchen. When I looked at the photo, I realized I had too much junk on the counter tops and other places. I got rid of most of it.
If you want to see how others see your home, take a photo of the rooms. Also, think about if you were selling your house. Do you have too much or do you need to clean a closet out?
Now I have a basket with papers I need to tackle. It's never ending. *sigh*

I had an epiphany today.....I tend to "hoard" clothes in my closet. I purchase cute things that I am convinced I have something already in my closet to pair with them but then they just end up on the hanger. I tell myself, "Oh, I might wear that with ____," or "I can't get rid of THAT because I might wear it one day," or "That's really cute, even though it's not comfortable to wear," etc. I stood there looking in my closet and realized there are a ton of great clothes I need to donate.....my project for the upcoming weekend.

Thanks so much for keeping this thread going! My goal for January is no buy for clothes, jewelry and beauty. Last night at 11:55pm, I decided I couldn't live without the Serious Skincare TS, even though I vowed not to get it. Also decided that I had to have a jar of glycolic renewal cream. So I ordered it. Woke up at 5:45am with that awful feeling of "why did I do that?". Was so disappointed in myself. Fortunately, I was able to cancel the order. It really is hard to break a habit, but I'm working at it. You all are such good support. I'm looking forward to May 31 when I retire from my current job; I'm going to take a month off before I look for part-time work. During that time, I'm really going to tackle all the clutter in my house. Can't wait!

I do this, too. I buy things with ideas about how many things they will go with, and then when I get them home I find they don't really work as I had planned. Yet I keep them anyway and then get no wear out of them. Crazy.

I'm still plugging away slowly over here. I haven't really tackled any one room completely other than my kids playroom right after Christmas, but I just keep finding small areas within each room that look overfull and I organize those areas.
I have two bags to take to Salvation Army and two small bags to give to my sister next time I see her. Last week I was working on weeding out some of my file cabinet and dumped the shredder several times. Plus some small things have made their way into the trash.
We have done some shopping this week, and they all haven't been exactly needs, like the dog beds we bought for our dogs. They could have continued to use the old comforter we had on the floor, but these are in our bedroom and just look nicer, so the things I have bought will be used.
This weekend will be a test for me when SKINN is on. I started with some of his products last year and really like most everything I've tried. But do I need any more right now? Probably not, but there are still other things I'd like to try. At least I'm using them all, they're not just sitting there, so that's a plus.
