Remington Silk vs Remington Pearl Curling Wand

I've never used a curling wand before and have been looking at these two models made by Remington. Would love to know if there's really any difference between the silk version and the pearl version. Don't really know what either does for your hair, if anything, but if any of you know, would appreciate hearing from you. Also, would love any suggestions for any other brand of curling wands that aren't expensive. Thanks!

Re: Remington Silk vs Remington Pearl Curling Wand

I just bought the Remington Silk oval wand yesterday and tried it out this morning.  Finally -- an easy-to-use tool that will give me the loose waves I want!  I highly recommend this if that's the look you're going for.  I never could get the hang of a curling iron, but this one I can handle, even with my lack of skill in using hair tools.

Re: Remington Silk vs Remington Pearl Curling Wand

I have a Nume with interchangeable wands, and I love it. I don't use it often, but when I do, I have great results. I think it is just on/off. I don't recall a temp setting, but my hair is fine, so I only leave it wrapped around the wand for 3-5 seconds, anyway. Search the net for discounts. They are out there, and there are some good ones. Lots of YouTube tutorials, too. HTH!

If you have long hair like I do the very BEST curler I've ever used is the KISS Instawave (Amazon or drugstore.com). It takes a few times to get the hang of it but beautiful beachy curls that last and last. This curls my hair better than anything I have ever found!

Re: Remington Silk vs Remington Pearl Curling Wand

Other than the color and one uses silk proteins and the other uses pearl, there doesn't really seem to be a difference.  I do think the silk one is the newer model because of the significant number of review difference, over 3000 for the pearl and about 300 for the silk.  Both get great reviews!  Congrats on your new curling wand, which ever you choose!

Re: Remington Silk vs Remington Pearl Curling Wand

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I was leanly towards the pearl version mainly because it had so many reviews, but as Tigriss mentioned, that's because it's been around longer. In checking out sales for both types, however, I ran across a great deal at Best Buy. It would have never occurred to me to try there, but in doing a google search, their site came up with the silk version for just $11.99!  Had to take advantage of that price. Again everyone, thanks!!!
