Re: Remember These Eyeshadows?

I wear all those colors, except for the ochre and orange...

Re: Remember These Eyeshadows?

I had an eye shadow paint box kit by Yardley that I was in love with!  In particular, I used to wear a glimmery aqua shade all the time from it and wore it in several pictures!  My dear Mother hated when I wore it and said it was terrible!  When I look back at these pictures --- turns out she was right!  LOL!

Re: Remember These Eyeshadows?

Thanks for the walk down memory lane ! I wore the  soft  or golden  browns, and  taupe colors,  I had a mutual acquaintance  in 1976 who became interested in cosmetics . She went to England and came back with some  pretty bold  eye shadow and hair style &  color  Like another poster ,  I remember a lady I worked with who wore blue eye shadow every day. I didn't wear the blue shadows till 2000's , after finding a shade that  was a bite subtle  and I had colored my hair lighter to cover my grays.

@monicakm

AH ! thanks for this . I sure do remember those shadows . I am right behind you , I was 14 in 1977. Great memories and such simpler times.  I remember we were so excited to go to the drugstore or WOOLWORTH ( remember them ) and purchase a lipstick or new eyeshadow . Now everything is done with the click of the mouse . I enjoy going on to pintrest sometimes and look for makeup and fashion ads from the 1970s and 1980s. I always remember Revlon's Wine with Everything ,and the Babe perfume ads. My favorite where the Ralph Lauren fashion spreads , those South Western themes were gorgeous .

Have a wonderful day ladies.

Your post is a little dejavu for me, @AngelPuppy1 .  I used to wear a frosted blue from Avon.  I remember one time in high school my dad said to me, do you think you should tone down that shadow?  I am sure that mom put him up to it.  Anyway, I said "I like it" and he said okay then!  LOL  I am sure it was bold and a bit brash looking.  I can't believe that was 50 years ago YIKES!!  Where have the years gone?

Re: Remember These Eyeshadows?

Thanks for this thread, @monicakm .  It is really a look back and yet there are many of these colors still in the make up aisles.  I wouldn't mind the third one from the left if it was matte......Woman Very Happy.

Re: Remember These Eyeshadows?

Absolutely, @marmarbrooklyn -- I bought all my makeup back then at Woolworth's.  The only brands I bought were Maybelline (remember the little red box of Maybelline mascara that you applied with that teensy brush?) and Cutex.  Taking the bus downtown to Woolworth's to shop for Maybelline was my Saturday treat for myself.

Btw, Revlon still makes Wine With Everything lipstick.  And I'm still buying Revlon's Softsilver Red.
