@lkat

Wow, thanks so much!  I will add the Rakuten extention too.  I've only ever used RetailMeNot.  Online shopping is ALL I do!  I mean it's the only way I shop Smiley Happy

I bought one in the $200 range and have used it three months. I haven't seen any difference.

What was your desired effect? Redness, acne, or another issue? I'm curious to know what the red light does.

@Effie54

Red light therapy increases collagen and elastin which reduces wrinkles, firms the skin. It a treatment for photo-aged skin (sun damaged skin).

I've used a red light panel for years - on face, neck and back of hands.  I close my eyes when I put it over my face.

Do the math.

Do you use this before applying skincare?

Well, mine too, I'm sure!  I've been busy most of the day but finally got my order placed just now. $251.10 and free shipping.  I better look terrific at my daughter's wedding!  LOL

@monicakm  et al, about those Topcashback and Rakuten extensions.  Just a little warning, if you're having problems with a site try disableing those extensions and see if it helps.  I had a couple of sites that the Ebates now Rakuten extension messed up and I couldn't properly use the sites until I disabled the extension.  I spent a couple of days calling back and forth to the Library trying to get to Ancestry through them before I thought about disabling the extension.  What a waste of time.  I removed the extension because I just didn't want that kind of hassle.

Also, TopCashBack does take awhile before your money actually becomes available to you.  For me, it seems like it's usually about a month.  Not a big deal.  I don't shop online as much as you do, so it takes awhile to build up the cash.  I probably have 7 or 8 Pending right now.

@SilleeMee it's been awhile since I've looked at those devices.  I'm thinking microcurrent is better at skin tightening than red light, correct?  I'm thinking mostly jowls and around the mouth, but also maybe forehead.  Thinking a handheld device might be better for those purposes.

@Icegoddess

I really don't know which is better. People experience things differently from one another so it's difficult to say for sure.

I own a small handheld red light device and used it for about a year. Most obvious change was on my forehead where it smoothed out some fine lines there. But it was just too time consuming b/c of the small areas it could treat each time so I gave up on it.

@SilleeMee When you get a chance, would you mind giving me a complete rundown of your AM ans PM routine plus whatever special treatments you do?  I'm thinking that I may be able to give up a few serums when I start my red light therapy.  Just wondering what you do on a daily basis.

Yes, it's rather simple.  I'll list my products first and then explain what I do with them.

Skincare/Cleanser:

- Zero Clean It Cleansing Balm

- Tretinoin (.05% cream)

- Squalane+THDA 20% (I make that myself)

- Alpha Skin Care Body Lotion

- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream Fragrance-Free Body (new addition for me, love it)

Tools/Devices:

-Thin microfiber cloths (very thin and easy to control exfoliation)

-Popsonic Spade Silicone Cleansing Brush

-Tria Age Defying Laser

-Palovia Skin Renewing Laser (discontinued product)

-Microneedle stamp (0.5mm)

A.M. Routine:

-Water-only wipe down using microfiber cloths. Exfoliate with them when needed.

-This step is where I will start using my red light therapy mask.

-One to two drops squalane/THDA on face, neck and dec.

-Sunscreen (chemical type) applied here, only when needed.

-Every other day alternate between Alpha and Hydro Boost moisturizers on top of THDA, sometimes just mix the two together.

P.M. Routine:

-Cleansing balm w/Popsonic Spade.

-Water-only wipe down with microfiber cloth.

-Tretinoin applied last.

Tria laser is used (on my neck/dec only) every night for 8 weeks then stop and resume in 4 weeks.

Palovia laser (under-eyes) once weekly.

Microneedle (face, neck, dec) stamp once monthly. This part requires me to stop tret for three days prior to and post needling.
