@JudyL   I agree that the medium does not have a red undertone. It is, IMO, a true universal shade. 

My coloring is close to Rose Marie's (fair skin and silver/grey hair, black framed glasses) and she uses medium and she uses dark when she wants more definition. She showed applying it to one brow using a lighter application (of medium) to the beginning of the brow and then darker at the arch to the tail. 

I have the medium and the dark and blend both at the arch to the tail when I want a more defined look. Medium is my every day choice.
