Re: Quick Tretinoin Question

@bmorechick

I live in a cave so the Sun aspect to tret or  sun exposure overall isn't a concern to me.

Re: Quick Tretinoin Question

@monicakm  hI!

With what sounds to be an extended period of time to receive any benefits from this Tret, did you happen to take a pic of you in the beginning, or along the way?

I ask because I usually forget to do that myself, then wonder if long term use of a slow acting product did any good.

I did remember to take a beginning pic when I started that  "mouth device" (the one with the elastic band), (cant remember the name).. and that proved to me that it did indeed create marionette lines, with regular use of that device.

Tretinoin is an extremely slow-acting, anti-aging drug. It will help preserve the youth you have today and carry it longer into the future so you'll look younger than if you didn't use it for all those years. That's how it works. Nothing instant or short-term about it at all.

On average it can take 12 months to see any anti-aging results and that's with using .05% whereas with 0.1% it will take about 6 months.

Re: Quick Tretinoin Question

I will be 70 next month and was a late Tret starter - about two years now.  I am still waiting to be carded when DH and I go out......Woman Wink

Actually, the main difference I have seen is clearer pores and a lightening of sunspots.  They haven't disappeared because I am still in the sun daily........always use SPF on face and chest.

@monicakm You are going to be disappointed if you think this is a fast results product.  I guess it is one of those things that you use and forget about it.  Think of it more as a preventive than a turn the clock back product.  As far as using a stronger dose, I think you may be sorry if you end up with flaking and redness.  Those are worse looking than wrinkles and a challenge when applying make up.

Re: Quick Tretinoin Question

You've only been using it 2 months, at most 3; give it time.

Re: Quick Tretinoin Question

Okay okay okay! So I'm not the most patient person. I don't have wrinkles except for crinklies under my eyes when I smile.  I don't have sunspots because I live in the cave and I don't have enlarged pores. So basically I'm not going to see any change. I'm just going to maintain, hopefully, what I have. Note to self... stop looking for your 20-year-old self
