Okay, my resolve to not order any gallons is wavering already, no surprise. Wink I have not tried the bamboo green tea so far, because I was a little afraid that it would be too similar to the former Spring seasonal, SGGT, which was horrible for my hair. So if any of you WEN veterans who have used both would please chime in I would appreciate it. Which of the core formulas is BGT most like, or, alternatively, is it most similar to Spring Gardenia Green Tea? Thanks very much!

I am sure you will get many different answers but in my experience with my hair type (normal to dry now), the BGT is similar in performance that SGGT which was a bit drying. Not as bad as lavender was though. I really like the BGT scent though, very lovely.My hair needs more moisture though than BGT could offer (unfortunately!).

What type of hair do you have? That may help others with similar hair type give you a better idea.

Yes! Please answer her question. I'm in the same predicament. (They really know how to get us!{#emotions_dlg.sneaky}) Now, I really want to buy BGT, too. But, I haven't tried it yet either. I have a 32oz on the way. What to do?{#emotions_dlg.huh}

I don't know how much help I'll be, but I'll give it a shot, lol. I actually really like SGGT, but I can only use it sparingly. (My hair does best with TT, SAM, LAV and CA, the "original" seasonals tended to be a little drying if I used them too often). My hair is fine in texture, but I have a lot of it.

I really think that BGT is in it's own category. It doesn't feel as "thick" as the other core formulas, and rinses very easily. My only concern is that I'm not sure if it's as moisturizing as I'd like it to be (my hair is bra strap length, so the ends can get dry).

I will say this, I wouldn't order a gallon of any cleanser unless I knew that I really liked it! I made that mistake with POM years ago, and I'm still working my way through that gallon.

Yes, it reminds me of SGGT but it's not the same since it has the bamboo water and 4 tea complex but it does have the aminos like the seasonals and 613.

Personally I wouldn't buy a gallon of anything I hadn't already used for awhile and knew worked for me.

I have thin/fine hair and BGT works very well on my hair.

Bamboo Green Tea (rice-based, bamboo amino acid complex, & extra skin care ingredients) is probably most similar to SGGT and SOB which have powdery floral scents. BGT has a fresh green powdery scent, with more subtle floral undertones. -- I much prefer the Wen powdery florals scents (think of powdery fragrances from the 1940s - Worth, Arpege, etc.).

Since BGT has an amino acid complex, it does wonders for builging up the structure of thin/fine/limp hair (like my hair). I find it's unique bamboo amino acid complex more effective than 613. However, if your hair is already healthy or if it's thick/coarse you need to approach this formula carefully. Too much protein build up on these two hair types can cause your hair to get brittle or even break.

The following CC formulas work well on my hair: TT, CA, POM (I don't like it's scent), BGT, 613 and all Seasonals. LAV dries my hair. FIG and SAM weigh my thin/fine hair down. I haven't tried the Kids CCs yet.

Does this information help?

That's an excellent point. DrCEB since your BGT is in the mail maybe you should hold off until you give it a try first. Lisa thinks BGT gallons will sell out early (which is what a lot of us have been thinking). That said, I would guess that BGT gallons will be around for a few weeks.

When the BGT gallons stock starts getting low, the hosts will be giving lots of advance warning about this. If you don't catch all the shows you can monitor the BGT availability daily progress on the June 2014 - Running Tally of Wen Gallons Ordered thread I set up. You may want to have a look at the tally I did for 2013 to get a sense as to how it all goes down: June 2013 - Running Tally of Wen Gallons Ordered thread (post #32 has the final June 2013 Gallons Month numbers). I summarized these results later in the June 2013 (recap) - Running Tally of Wen Gallons Ordered thread.

BGT is my second FAV CC. I have fine, unprocessed hair and it works great for my hair. I get lots of body and shine with it. That said, I agree with those who caution against buying a gallon of any formula you don't love. The only gallons I've purchased are TT and BGT (for myself) and Watermelon (for our grandkids).

Sorry, HappyDaze, I should have mentioned my hair type, duh! I have very fine, shoulder-blade length dark blonde hair that is militantly straight, it even straightens after chemical perms. I don't color, and I didn't used to use heat styling, but have started using hot rollers and a curling iron, since my WENderful hair can tolerate it now. My scalp used to be VERY oily, but weekly or twice-weekly WEN oil treatments have fixed that problem, too. To be honest, if I had to describe my hair, I'd just say to look at Chaz's hair and make it long enough to reach between his shoulder blades in back, with shorter bangs in front, it's pretty much the same color and texture. (Every time I see Chaz on air I think to myself that he could be my younger cousin, he looks so much like my younger brother. It's kind of spooky in a way, to see somebody famous that looks like they are a close relative.)

While I'm tempted on BGT because of what Chaz said, I never tried it either, but listening to all of you, I really think it won't work for me.... SSGT was way too drying for me, and I gave mine away...Lavender was also horribly drying, ended up using it to shave my legs.. I definitely do better with others and there are plenty to choose from, so i have to stop wanted all of them, just because.... LOL!! {#emotions_dlg.wub}
