Questions about vitamin C serum TIA

Hi Ladies,

I have been using Ole Henrickson's Vitamin C serum on and off for about a year. The last 2 weeks I have been using the serum everyday, and I'm peeling.

Is it normal to peel when using a vitamin C serum, or is my serum old? or maybe I need something more gentle?

I don't have a sunburn, and haven't been using my retin A, so the only thing I can attribute it to is the Vitamin C. I think that's why I have been inconsistent with it in the past.

Any ideas? Thanks so much for your time and advice.

I'm sorry, Dublingrl, but I don't have an answer for you -- just kicking hoping someone will come along and see this who can actually help. :-)

Re: Questions about vitamin C serum TIA

I've had that same reaction to many of the vitamin C serums I've tried so it seems perhaps that particular one isn't a good fit for your skin. I almost gave up on vitamin c serums thinking that my skin just couldn't not deal with them but then I've now found a couple that are gentle enough not to cause the dryness, peeling, or irritation. I can now use vitamin C serums twice a day and not have any peeling or reaction.

So I would suggest you do a little research (read the many vitamin C posts on the beauty forum, for example) and try a different one and keep trying until you find one your skin can handle.

Re: Questions about vitamin C serum TIA

If you choose to try another C serum, I use one from NCN. Many posters are equally pleased with Paula's Choice.

Call their CS and ask for some samples.

If you have being using OH for a year, I would question why you are only now peeling and reacting. Have you added a Retinoid recently?

eta: Sorry, I just reread that there was no Retin A.

Have you considered calling OH CS?
