Does this have a perfume-y smell? I know the various fragrances have changed in the last few years, but I still use Cinnamon Buns and Pure Grace.

I'd love to try a new shower gel scent, but have been scared off by the changes or had to return several years ago.

For anyone who's tried or smelled this, does it truly smell like Vanilla and Coconut?

TIA!

Re: Question re Vanilla Coconut

I have the shower gel and to me it does have a nice vanilla scent but I do detect a perfume scent which may cause some people a headache. I won't repurchase.

Re: Question re Vanilla Coconut

I guess I'm the odd one out here, but I really like this scent. I used it all of last summer. I think it has more of a vanilla smell than a coconut smell. It doesn't linger long after showering, which I like because of my office environment. I've never layered with the lotion, so I don't know how the staying power would be with the lotion.

Love Philosophy but didn't like this scent, got it in a shower gel and I couldn't smell vanilla or coconut. I hated it!! Can't say about the lotion because I never tried it in this scent.

Re: Question re Vanilla Coconut

I could smell both the coconut and the vanilla, however, it was also perfumey and musky to me, which I didn't like.

We all have different sniffers though, so you may still like it!

For example, do you remember the Fresh Cream body lotion that first came out about two seasons ago? I thought it literally smelled like fresh cream that you'd just frothed at home ... I LOVED IT!! I thought it smelled just like the name, literally a fresh-cream note, very clean and pure, no perfume note at all. Yet many others did smell a perfume note.

Now ... the current season's Fresh Cream body lotion, the one that came back last fall? Well, I hate to say it, but I really dislike it. And I'm stuck with four of them that I won't use, and can't return (I bought them from the Philosophy brick and mortar store, and they wouldn't take them back). The clean pure cream scent I loved so much was replaced by a strong vanilla scent ... and I would definitely say that this season's version is perfumey to me. Isn't that a kick?!

So you might want to try it anyways, you may end up liking it! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Question re Vanilla Coconut

I have been disappointed in the Vanilla Coconut. I detect ALOT of lime in it. Would prefer more coconut.
