Re: Question on root touch-up using regular hair color

I use Colorsilk. I use a glass measuring ""shot"" glass & measure into a glass bowl. I apply with a brush from Sally's. I usually get 3 or 4 applications out of each box. I do my roots every other week.

L'Oreal has a new mousse haircolor that dispenses just the amount you need-i use it to do root touch ups and i leave it on the regular amount of time -i have gotten 4 touch ups out of one unit. i don't know if they have red shades however.

I have not had luck with that product. I use a blond shade and wow---talk about a color not found in nature. Back to the Preference. Glad it works for ya!

This sounds really good! I think I've seen it in Walgreen's, but didn't pay much attention. It definitely seems like something that would be good to keep on hand. Thanks!

And I agree with the poster who suggested calling L'Oreal CS. I've called them in the past, and found them to be very helpful.

Re: Question on root touch-up using regular hair color

Clairol's says 10 minutes, but if you have grays (coarse & stubborn to absorb hair dye), 15.

HTH & good luck!
