Question on Neuropeptide Cream Application

I've used it in the past and have applied it as Dana demonstrates in her presentation - full face, under chin, behind ears, etc. Yet, in the product information for the product, the directions are to pat gently to targeted areas. Why different and what are you doing if you are using it? I've never found a tube of Neuropeptide Cream to last anywhere near six months. Is this why? At best, it's lasted me three months.
