Question about perfume testers

Why are testers priced lower than the same size sprays on Ebay? I don't care about the lids or boxes being missing...Is it because the testers are somehow old and exposed to the elements? Even though they are advertised as never having been used. I think they are somehow lesser quality. ??Thanks

Re: Question about perfume testers

Testers probably cost the wholesalers less. Most people want a sealed carton and a fancy cap, so that's why the testers are less.

Re: Question about perfume testers

I won't buy "testers." I want new, sealed in the box. IMO, "testers" are the equivalent of "used." Since I don't open those that are advertised as "testers," I am not aware that some claim to be unused.

But honestly, don't you think that on a scale, the new and sealed in a box should be priced somewhat higher than testers, those not in a box, and of course those that are used?

Re: Question about perfume testers

I bought a tester and it had no scent being open for God knows how long. Don't make that mistake.
