Question about Ulta coupon

I am getting ready to visit Ulta for the first time. I have a coupon for 20% off of any one item. If I am purchasing more than one item, are they going to make me use the coupon for the cheapest item I'm buying or will they let me use it for the most expensive thing?

I'm asking because if they are going to take the discount on the cheapest item, I will only buy one item this time (the most expensive thing I want to get)!
