Question about STO black bar soap

I haven't seen this issue addressed in the many threads about STO. I just got the black bar soap that is so greatly recommended here. I am kind of grossed out by the dark suds and the way the water in the sink gets brown. It reminds me of sewage (sorry for being too graphic) and appears dirty. The sink has to be sponged out after use. The soap dish is gunky looking with all the dark residue. Am I the only one so turned off to this?

After washing a few times my skin is very smooth (as if I did an aspirin mask) but my skin feels dry and tight which is odd since I have combo/oily skin. I thought I'd bring a bar into the shower but I can't stand the gunky brown residue. Using in a tub is really out of the question. Does anyone have any hints to offer about using this product or am I being overly picky?
