I get the dipped nails procedure about every 2-3 weeks at the same salon and they do a great job. The last time I went about 1 1/2 weeks ago they were so busy I decided to try another salon.

I was happy with the outcome but as of 2 days ago I have had the entire dip powder and polish just crack across 3 nails !  Has anyone else ever had that happen? Oh yes ! I'm going to my original salon tomorrow to get them done again, won't go back to the other salon.  I've never had that happen, just wondered if anyone else has had the dipped nails crack

Re: Question about Dipped nails

I get the dip too and haven't had any problems but I went when out of town and they were a disaster.  They did not crack the way you said but they all chipped.  At my salon they can last 6 weeks with no chipping although they get too long.  I get mine done the day before I leave town and make an appointment 2 days after getting home.

Wow 6 wks? that's great !  I've never had them last over 3 weeks because my nails grow. Thanks for your response regarding cracking of the dip  .

Re: Question about Dipped nails

my daughter gets her nails done that way and has never had that problem.  She is a server for a major Hotel chain so uses her hands a lot!!

From what I could find on the internet...it's caused by the technique...that caused the nails to crack.

I wouldn't go back to that salon.

Re: Question about Dipped nails

For now, I think I would go back to that salon and make them correct the damage at no charge, then never go back there again.

Thanks and I just might do that !  I paid $84 for the dipped nails at that salon.

Re: Question about Dipped nails

@Goodie2shoes Yes I had that happen one time and I went back and they redid my nails with no charge they said that should not have happen.  I think you should go back to the same salon and see if they will do them over for your with no charge before you go to your usual salon.  Good Luck.

Re: Question about Dipped nails

@happilyretiredgirl @Shelbelle  update on my dipped nails. I went back to the nail salon this morning and they redid my cracked nails at no charge (of course) !  Not going back there again, same nail tech did the repair and tried to tell me I was using my hands to much. (Not buying that excuse) I just thanked her for the repair and left.

@Goodie2shoes  I agree with @Shelbelle that is crazy to say, I guess they needed an excuse for someone not doing your nails correct....using your hands too much....LOL!!!

I would never go back again and make sure you let any of your friends know to never go there.
