Re: QVC - Start providing a list of Ingredients on all cosmetics/skincare

I agree that ingredient disclosure is good and important, but not as important as what we choose to do with it, imo. It doesn't really do much good unless we take the subsequent steps and invest the time do the appropriate research in order to educate ourselves sufficiently enough to make informed decisions.

years ago, the Q always listed ingredients. One day they just STOPPED! I wonder if they hope that it would improve sales if you did not know all the JUNK in a lot of the lines. Seems like poor reasoning to me. All other web sites have ingredient lists.

They stopped when there were numerous complaints that the Q ingredient lists weren't accurate. At the time, there were many comments that the ingredients in a specific brand of products didn't match the lists on the vendor's website. There were questions about whether the Q was selling the same product or a different version of the product. The Q first removed the ingredient lists on just that brand and then shortly thereafter removed all ingredient lists for all products.

On a side note, Estee Lauder does not allow ingredient lists for any of their brands' products to be posted online by vendors, which is why you can't find ingredient lists for EL brands even at websites like Sephora and Ulta. I usually go to Beautypedia if I'm looking for ingredients as Paula often posts them when she reviews the products.

It is a shame when companies do not want to disclose this important information to the consumer before purchase. They lose more sales by hiding information than displaying information. Less returns etc.

Gazelle, I totally agree. I have super sensitive skin and if I can't find an ingredient list online for a product, I won't order.
