Can anyone compare Purity and Tatcha?  I have used Purity and it is great stuff but I always like to try new things and wondered if Tatcha is worth the $$$.  I am 62 and have combination skin.

Hi @bargainsgirl

I just finished up my large bottle of Purity and I have half of my Tatcha duo remaining.  I, like you, enjoy trying different products.  I figure it is healthier to mix up my diet and the cosmetics I apply to my skin.

I like Purity because it is easy to use and does a wonderful job removing all eye makeup.

Tatcha is a two step process.  I find the cleansing "oil",  no matter how tightly I try keeping my eyes closed, goes into my eyes. For a short time afterward, I am looking through a haze.  The scrub is made up of a very fine powder and is mixed with water.  It feels very nice.  It takes time to do both steps.

Purity does not exfoliate.  I use it with my Clairosonic but still use masks and scrubs.

I do not have to use additional products with Tatcha.  My face looks and feels wonderful after cleansing with the duo.

All in all, the Tatcha does leave me with a more refreshed feeling skin but it is time consuming.

Two very different cleansers. Purity is a soap/detergent cleanser and Tatcha is an oil cleanser. I have dry skin and find purity drying. But I do use it a couple of nights a week. Though an oil cleanser, I found Tatcha to be drying as well. Left me flaky after first use. I use Dr. Young's Camellia oil cleanser. It's not drying and takes off all makeup. I get it on amazon.

Re: Purity and Tatcha?

[ Edited ]

I have used Purity for years and liked it. I have swithched over to Tatcha in Dec., and love it. I find that it leaves my face clean and glowing. I was surprised to find that the oil removed all of my eye makeup and Estee Lauder Double wear foundation. Three times a week I use my Clarasonic and my old Purity. Very happy with the results.

I use and love both.  I have used Purity for years and it's my go to for makeup removal but I am in love with the Tatcha oil/scrub but I don't think it does that great of a job on eye makeup.

I tend to use the Tatcha routine in the morning and my purity with clairsonic at night.

I've used Purity for years but always still need to use a waterproof eye makeup remover to take off my waterproof mascara.  I recently received a few samples of the Tatcha Carmelia (sp?) oil-based makeup remover and it took every bit of my makeup off, even the waterproof mascara!  I've got a big jug of Purity that I'm using up now but once it's gone I think I'm going to look to QVC for Tatcha sales and switch over to it.

Thanks @bargainsgirl for asking this question. I think I'll use both too like those who replied.  Although I can't give you an answer to which is better I can add that I spent a fortune trying to recreate TATCHA cleansing oil and failed.  I have all the components, well almost all, but the powders, and extracts won't mix. I'm headed to q.com to order the oil duo now! The replies you got have convinced me it's worth having both. Purity pm TATCHA am.
