Does any one have any suggestions on something that will take morning puffiness down around the eye area?

Some mornings i'm fine, others I look like someone inflated my face.

Not every morning do i look like this, some are just worse than others.. (like today{#emotions_dlg.scared})

For reference I am 50.

It's really diet related. What you eat and drink impacts the inflammation (puffiness) in your face/eyes.

I think Dr. Perricone has probably written the most on this subject.

If you google, you will find a list of things to avoid and a list of things to eat/drink that will help.

Try sleeping with your head a little more elevated. Ditto to the salty food thing.

Avoiding sodium, sugar, alcohol, processed foods is a good start. Also start incorporating anti-inflammatory foods.

Sugar is a huge inflammatory so really watch that.

My eyes do get puffy some time depending on what is in the air and I take a Benadryl everyday and that helps.

Agree with Vi....add a couple of pillows to prop yourself up a little...It helps things drain downward.

Diet and all that too I agree with...But I'm not going to give up caffeine and bad foods so I bought one of those gel eye masks...awesomeness!!!lol Put it in the fridge before bed, and in the am after you wash your face, rinse with as cool water as you can stand, and then put your eye mask on for a few minutes--You'd be amazed at the difference it makes!Smiley Happy

But again, preventing it before it happens is the best thing to do Smiley Happy

Try soaking a cotton pad with witch hazel and resting it on your eye like you would a tea bag. I use it as a toner. Witch hazel has lots of great uses.

I put two small ice packs from the freezer on my eyes in the AM if I am puffy. Works.
