Huh? I think it's a well know fact and has been for the past 50 years or so that packaging, presentation and advertising sells cosmetics. That's what we are buying. We are buying an image. We a buying a dream.

I was in advertising and the amount of money that went into packaging design and focus testing, and the final cost of the packaging itself, adds substantially to the cost of the product.
But it works! People gravitate to the item with the most appealing packaging. And even knowing what I did, I'd do the same. I've said that part of the reason I love Tatcha is the packaging and presentation. It costs me. :-)
