Primer over Foundation

Today I was getting ready to go to town, I forgot to put my primer on before I put my foundation. So I decided just for the fun, I would put the primer on over the foundation. I couldn't believe that it looked really good. It even did good in the heat. Has anyone tried this and I'm wondering if this is a good idea or not? Any thoughts?
