For oils, I place a drop or two in my hands rub together and then pat on my face.  For moisturizer, I lightly rub into the skin.  The directions on the product should indicate how to apply.

@Katcat1   I agree. I pat on oils/serums. I tend to massage in my moisturizers, especially at night. There are times I find it absorbs and can handle an extra layer of moisturizer.
