I have 3 small Carmindy shadow pallets and lots of BE pots that are anywhere from 4-7 years old.  I have been using stick shadows lately (LWYA and RMS) and since my 72 year old skin is changing, I am liking the non powder shadows much better.  Guess it's time to toss them?  They "smell" ok but they are old...How long can you keep the shadow sticks?  They do seem to last awhile as well...

Re: Powder and BE eye shadow

Sticks should be good for 2 years. After that the preservatives in them degrades and the sticks can harbor bacteria or fungus so they should be tossed.

Powders are good indefinitely as long as you don't use them wet. If the powder shows a sheen on top then remove the sheen with some sticky tape to refresh the powder under it.

Re: Powder and BE eye shadow

@bargainsgirl   Any type of cream shadow seems to be a good choice of women our age. The skin on our lids may begin to wrinkle and powders may settle into those lines.

Powder shadows last quite awhile, but if you think you won't go to them, I'd toss them.

Shadow sticks and cream shadows usually are good for 2 yrs., but check smell and consistency often.

I would toss these items.  Too old.  But you can thank them for their memories 💕

As @SilleeMee stated, powder shadows are good indefinitely.  Is there someone you can give them too instead of tossing?

Re: Powder and BE eye shadow

I had many, many pots of powder shadows, blushes, setting powders and on and on---I tossed out the colors I had ---I only use neutrals now--but I combined like colors into one container, especially the blushes. Put the many bisques together and the many mineral veils in one pot too. So I have nice neutral colors that look fine on and got rid of alot of clutter.
